I don't think that this will be the case, CB's mature into their position a lot slower than strikers.

If you were to play a young CB at top 4 club and he made a few mistakes it is very costly, if you play a youngstriker and he misses a lot of shots his confidence might be dented but it would not be so damaging to the team.

He can certainly spot talent at a young age.

ok amigo. my point was that the section I highlighted is an admission by rafa that he has got a number of signings wrong and now that he is more familiar with the league he does not plan to make the same mistakes again. this is of relevance to those on here that make it appear, or indeed genuinely believe that every player rafa has signed is a success or rather has merit.

of course rafa conceding this point completely negates the argument presented by some that rafa can do no wrong, after all he has himself admitted that he has made some bad signings.

I always thought my use of English was both concise and clear. Furthermore whilst I appreciate that you may find my position on certain matters difficult to comprehend, I doubt very much that this is a consequence of any grammatical or linguistic shortcomings I may have.
It's the height of ignorance to suggest people really think "Rafa can do no wrong" and anyone who suggests it is showing a lack of respect towards their fellow-supporters. As for picking an argument where there is none, it's entirely in keeping with your tediously hostile and unenlightening approach to this forum.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

No I think that Rafa takes a different approach to young players to many others though. He seems to view players up until about 23 as still young players who could develop whereas many others draw the line younger (certainly in this country - about 21).

I do wonder how Rafa will develop the prospects like Nemeth though as I think he feels they need first team football but without a feeder team or reserve team in a competitive league we have to put players in the often uncertain position of being loaned out.

I think we need to do some sort of deal with a club to take a number of players at once (probably in the Championship) and a penalty if they don't share a certain number of games agreed. Or possibly a foreign feeder team of some sort. I guess the bench enlargement will help but some players need more games to iron out their kinks than others and odd sub appearances won't help many of them.

I think time will show that he'll be in the top two signings of Rafa's managerial career (i think we can guess the other )

on topic without a doubt. the turning point in the semi was skertl going off injured. drogba was nowhere before then.

with the types of fullbacks rafa's lined up i can see a rotation of 352 and 4231 rather than 442.

skertl will be a regular if not constant fixture in the team next year

i think raffa signings have produced more good than bad and no-one is perfect...

skirtel imo should of gotten the young player of the year vote, and imo he is the player that has improved with every game he has played, and i also thought raffa played a master stroke in his 1st few games playing carra on the right of him and hypia on the left of him, with those 2 players helping you through games and training if you cant improve you dont belong here,i also belive the agger and skirtel are the defense for when carra and hypia are retired....

if you think what rio cost the manks and is still costing them in wages compared to agger and skirel signings then raffa has weaved his magic there, cause i belive both will be better than rio
