No I think that Rafa takes a different approach to young players to many others though. He seems to view players up until about 23 as still young players who could develop whereas many others draw the line younger (certainly in this country - about 21).

I do wonder how Rafa will develop the prospects like Nemeth though as I think he feels they need first team football but without a feeder team or reserve team in a competitive league we have to put players in the often uncertain position of being loaned out.

I think we need to do some sort of deal with a club to take a number of players at once (probably in the Championship) and a penalty if they don't share a certain number of games agreed. Or possibly a foreign feeder team of some sort. I guess the bench enlargement will help but some players need more games to iron out their kinks than others and odd sub appearances won't help many of them.

We've spoken about this before and I do agree with you. I would like to see nemeth fast tracked to the first team in the summer. maybe in the place of Vornonin, but certainly ahead of potential mooted signings like Marcelo. If not, then why bother signing these guys in the first place.

His debut against Havant & Waterlooville was comically bad, especially in the first half. He looked so nervous it was unreal. Ever since then he has got better with ever single game. He was a class act towards the end of the season. Early days yet but looks like another great signing.

Martin Skrtel is going to be a massive player for us for years to come.

I honestly don't see a weakness in his game. He's tall, he's quick, he's good on the ball, he reads the game well, he's powerful in the air. Maybe he could be a little more forceful and physical at times but overall i think he's been brill for us.

He's our stopper, our Lawrenson if you like. Ball playing etc will be handled by Agger for the next 10 years or so

Dont forget, Carra will be around for another 4-5 years after which I hope San Jose will take over as the third defender. That boy is meant to be class as well.

If Agger & Skrtel do well enough to have us sorted for the next 10 years I wouldn't consider it to be a worry mate. There will always be suspensions / injuries / cup games etc for the 3rd & 4th choice centre halves & hopefully at least one of these can come through from the youths / reserves

You're worried because you think our central defence is sorted for the next ten years? Talk me through that please.

If San Jose and Huth aren't as good as Agger and Sktrel then they won't break into the team and there's nothing to worry about. If they're better than either or both then they will break into the team and there's nothing to worry about.
