he should be allowed to go IMO, it's part and parcel of the game these days. the top players want to win medals and play at the top levels in in top competitions and we want thoose winners at the club.

Wonder if it was an English player putting country before cub wether there'd be pages and pages of f*** em?
Its times like these we learn to live again FF

Yeah let him go, as long as we don't get given trips to the Bridge, Emirates and OT in the first month we'll be fine.

Anyway he might be able to tap up a bit of talent whilst he's there.

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

We really should let him go, th lad has a right to play for his country and we have to respect that.

shows why we need to keep hold of Xabi and buy Barry, if Xabi leaves and our 3 boy go to the Olympics we will be left well short in midfield.

Although he would be missing for a few games, it could benefit us in the long run. There is a limit to the number of overage players they can pick, so surely they pick their best ones. That they should pick him as one of them should give him confidence.

The olympics in itself is a massive competition for an athlete to win. But in these circumstances it's a nothing tournament. It has very little meaning in the world of football.

I can see why Mascher wants to play, and in normal circumstances I would let him go without hesitation. But the fact that his replacement in midfield, Lucas, is also going does not help.

I see Milan are forcing Kaka to stay, but I disagree with this. I would ask Mascher to stay and remind him how he could be affecting our chances in the prem, but if he really wants to go it's best to let him. This way when Real Madrid come calling in a few years he may well remember what we have done for him.........

let him play, i'm sure we could drop gerrard back into the middle next to barry most likely, it'll give them time to form a partnership.

for me at the start of the season the fewer opportunities to rotate rafa has the better. we need to get some momentum going.

Slightly dissapointed that he's not showing more commitment to the shirt. But if that's how he feels about his country, then so be it. He'll be playing by the start of september anyway.

Insua played in a first team friendly, against Catalonia and admittedly players based on South America were ruled out due to the Copa Libertadores. He was even played @ CH which I think shows how much faith they have in him.
