          The lad sounds like he really wants to go, and if knowing that it is in principal against the clubs wishes but never the less the manager allows him to go, it would be good man-management by Rafa. By not wanting him to go shows the importance of his playing for the team, and everyone likes to think they are an important member of a team. Letting him go demonstrates trust and an understanding of his feelings resulting in a happy and committed player when he gets back, grateful that he has a caring and understanding boss.

          I don't think Masher is some prima donna that just wants his own way, and taken on balance think it will make him a better Liverpool player.
