The touts will pay the £29 as they will make it back in one game.

It will affect those who struggle to take their kids to a couple of games per season...surely

I don't think so. For 30 quid a year, less than the price of a ticket, less than a beer a month, half a dozen or so packs of fags?
No, I can't see it I'm afraid. There will be more people with multiple cards going down to one than fans giving up their fan card.

It will affect them but 29 quid isn't going to stop them because that amount is a drop in the ocean when you consider the overall cost of taking the family to the game.

Its not £29 for them though is it. They cant pay it monthly. Family of 4 will have to stump up £120 in one month. Can a family of 4 justify £120 on the hope of going to one or two games in the next year? Some might, many wont.

Meh, that's capitalism. The market/demand will dictate the price. The fact that many fans have half a dozen or more suggests that the price is not realistic.
Sadly football is no longer about families going to the odd match, it's about money. If you want success and you want expensive signings then ultimately the fans will have to pay for it whether through sky subs or through attendance of games.

So yet again, the game is being taken away from those that made it. It doesnt just price out families, it also prices out everyone on a lower wage or those on benefits or getting a pension of some sort. Its a disgrace but thats how it is.

I totally understand Liverpool's reason for doing this but it doesnt mean I have to like it or accept it.

I think you have to accept it, or forget about Premiership football.
How are you going to not accept it, it will happen. The owners have us by the balls, we're not going to give up on LFC and they will exploit that fan loyalty to the max.

I wont accept it by not paying it. They price me out so thats not my fault. I wont give up LFC but I can give up them taking more and more of my money especially when they are asking for money for nothing. You know, I may well start an LFC for people who cant afford to go to Anfield.....

What can you do? Apart from opt out of buying a new card. But I think the number of people who will do that are minimal compared to the price hike.

Sadly you are probably right. Nothing changes because people just accept it and carry on. If everyone stopped buying tickets and merchandise then they would have to think again about prices but people won't. They know that and so they carry on. That's why you have to admire Alun Parry etc for actually doing something about it.

This is the liverpool fc ticket line - you are being charged for this call.

I probably spend more than £29 a season being charged only to be told that all lines are busy - try again later - after navigating past two menu options and pressing redial for 2 hours.

If they sort that bollocks out (which I doubt) it might not be so bad.

Who knows - the extra revenue might enable us to buy Lee Trundle.
