One of my mates is doing this, so i know a bit about it! You cannot eat or drink from dusk to dawn. I presume that not taking on board any water during a game or in training would be the most problematic thing. Other than professional athletes this doesn't cause much of a problem for professional folk - though it's a nightmare working in a chipper i'm told.
Folk with illnesses are excused, That defender who came from Spurs to Deportivo did it - i think - he certainly fasted for something.

I think we came to the conclusion that it probably wouldn't make a difference and he'd be well advised by the people at the club etc.
Having said that I thought you were allowed to drink still and it seems perhaps not...that might cause a problem I guess but he was fine last year wasn't he?
