"Torres' generosity in the first goal was admirable," he said. "When you are a striker, it's not easy to see a team-mate when you are bearing down on the goalkeeper, but he had the presence of mind to give the ball to Villa. That was a great gesture."
Also Torres showed why he's a world class Striker with an unselfish attitude

Whilst i think that Arogones is an idiot most of the time, i would say that it was the correct decision at the time. They had a 2 goal lead and the best thing to do was obviously take off a striker for a midfielder and close the game out
My uncle Picked up Arteta and his dad in his cab. Apparently Aragones said tp him if he wants to get in the spain squad he needs to wither be playing for one of the top 4 in england, week in, week out OR in Spain.
And what's wrong with that, especially with the midfield Spain have got already? Aragones might be a dickhead but there's a lot of crap being talked on this thread. Fabregas doesn't get in the team because he can't hold as well as Senna, and Xavi and Iniesta have an almost telepathic link with each other, do you really think if he was that much better than them he wouldn't be in the team?
If you really want to find a dickhead who makes ludicrous personnel decisions, look at Domenech
"the correct decision would have been a penalty for us a red card for Gattuso and a yellow for Stevie"
LF Clove aka AFII 11/10/07
"i personally hold you and several other gob****es responsible for the chaos this club is in"
Domenech is a joker indeed. Abidal, Malouda, Sagnol, Anelka, Gomis all should not be in the team. He continously picks players that are are totally off-form. Most of those guys i named have been crap this season yet he persists with them
Spain did fairly well last night. Don't think that Aragones is that a fool. He must be doing something right as regards the football and team building.
I didn't see the full match, only the highlights, but from what I saw I was just as unimpressed by their defence as I was impressed by their attack.
They were absolutely amazing going forward, one of the greatest attacking forces I've seen in a long while (well, Holland were fantastic too), but they were looking very shaky at the back.
Against a decent attacking side it would have been a much less impressive peroformance and maybe even not a win IMHO.
That is not acceptable. Not respecting the manager! Send him out of the team.
The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and goodwill shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers and you will know my name is The Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee. Gary Lineker tells a story, from the time when he trained under Luis Aragones at Barcelona, that reveals something about the Spain coach and his complicated state of mind.
Just before a game, Aragones was writing some tactical instructions on the black board, and he wasn’t making much sense. All of a sudden, he started writing - or more like scribbling - lines, crosses, drawings that had no meaning and while out of his mouth came noises rather than sounds. It was a very sad situation and he basically had to be taken away to hospital.
I know some of you would use this story to come to the conclusion that he is a mad man, and as confirmation that he is a racist (that tag is going to stay with him forever), but I would recommend you try to look beyond the stereotypes that the media likes to use to explain people and life. Be grown up about it and make your own conclusions.
he's still the manager because no-one else wanted it. If benitez or ramos or flores asked for the job aragones would be on his bike.

I remember him saying this on the BBC during the WC actually.
