Tons of possession, heaps of crosses and nothing to show. Provided no chances of scoring. He is also provides no goal threat which is criminal for any attacker in modern football. There are odd exceptions if they're assisting like crazy but Pennant rarely gets those either.

The only reason why Rafa bought him in the first place was because he was the only option out there that could do the job at the price we could afford there and then because all the top players had either gone else where or stayed at their club

The times where we had to rely on second best players are hopefully behind us now(if everything goes to plan!) and we'll see the very best coming to us, they don't have to be expensive of course but, as long as they've got the right mentality to do the job that Rafa wants, who cares eh

Agree with BFGs comment on Pennant - he's matured and shown character at Anfield. I also think he's a better player than many give him credit for.
I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.

No matter what some players say people have a pop. In this case of course he wants to stay - he is at Liverpool and it is the club he supports. Who knows what Rafa has said to players individually - presumable there is a range of positions from those he just wants rid of to those he feels might raise enough money to help other transfers but he would happily keep.
I totally agree and it amuses me the way people rubbish JP on here. Sure he's not brilliant every single match but he tries his guts out and has picked up points in fans MOTM quite a few times also. So obviously he is rated by quite a few of us.He has let no-one down IMO and can hold his head high in the way he has turned himself around.

I'd prefer to keep him (as a squad player) than sign Milner for 9mil

Don't think he's good enough for us, but he's still better than Milner.

I can't fault him for his effort or attitude and would wish him well wherever he goes.

I agree with the sentiment that he's not good enough to be taking on the scum or the Chavs or the like but as a squad player, I feel he's fine.

He's worth more to the squad as a squad/back up player than the £4-5m we could get for him. For that reason he's worth keeping IMO.
