Which is why I will not rule out that level of signing. Sure there is speculation and a lot of bull**** flying around, but the fact is we need that type of striker.

Both Torres and Stevie have gone on record about how we need to spend big so I can really see it happening. Plus the No.7 shirt is vacant (and it also will be at The Scum...).

I actually think he has something to offer. Like a lot of last seasons squad he will have to step it up though. He is right he looked decent enough at the start of the season and I doubt he will be a first choice this season.

We do need to bring in more attacking players though. I would be worried if he was second choice forward next season (obviously I'm assuming Crouch will depart).

Thing is even if (big if) we end up with Torers & Villa up top, we'll have no real plan B other than shifting Babel & Crouch up top, cos you can be sure that the Cow will not come on & change the game in our favour 99% of the time.

I'm sure we could but ultimately do we really need to improve greatly on our 3rd choice striker/utility forward? I'm not sure it is a top priority. I think he did show some good moments and if he improves even a little after a year of settling in then his 1 in 3/ 1 in 4 scoring ratio will be handy enough. He did have a couple of shocking games but I think he also had some good ones.

If we were going to get decent money for him it might be a different scenario but as it is I think all we would gain from selling him would be higher squad turn over.

Spurs? Now that is just silly. They have some rubbish in their squad like Dawson, Zakora, Lee, Robinson, Bent, Kaboul, Prince-Boateng etc.

As for Chavs and the Mancs, well even they have a fair bit of dross in their squads too like Eagles, Fletcher Pizzaro, Shevchenko etc.

It would be lovely to have two quality players for each position, but that isn't realistic for us unfortunately. Voronin isn't great, that I can't argue with, but for a free transfer squad filler he isn't that bad.

who would he listen to? the ones that said tevez instead of torres? the ones who didnt want crouch? the ones who say aguero, villa and arshavin?

you dont see the ful picture mate, none of us do...and yes we get a few calls right but Rafa has budgets, personalities and a whole other set of parameters to think about!
