I know, I was just making a point.
Plus I really don't believe he is any worse than Pizzaro. Whether he is worse than Shevchenko these days is even debatable.

That whole "argument" about whether Voronin would get into other teams' squads is just dressing up opinion as rational analysis.
Like I said, "repetitive squabbling".

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

we should never have signed him. he has been given loads of opportunities and still shown nothing.Originally posted by red g View Postwho would he listen to? the ones that said tevez instead of torres? the ones who didnt want crouch? the ones who say aguero, villa and arshavin?
you dont see the ful picture mate, none of us do...and yes we get a few calls right but Rafa has budgets, personalities and a whole other set of parameters to think about!
the names you mention all have strengths to their games, voronin has none.

Of course thats true but its not answering my question - If keeping Voronin allowed Rafa to get his first choice striker as apposed to his 2nd or 3rd would you still want to get rid of him?
My point being, nobody knows the full picture, what is going on behind the scenes etc.

Why is it that just because Voronin says he is staying, we immediately believe it, but when Pennant or Yossi say they want to stay, we have our doubts?
Rafa decides who stays and who goes, and as with Josemi, Nunez and Morientes, when players he has brought in don't perform, he is quick to get rid of them.
People need to realise that holding on to below average players in the hope that they would somehow become less useless over a time, was a major failing of Houllier's reign, but it is clearly not the case under Benitez."The definition of insanity is not running into the same wall again and again; it's expecting a different result every time you do it."

I would still get rid because it would not hinder us getting another striker - far from it, any additional funds would be welcome I am sure.Originally posted by rudedog View PostOf course thats true but its not answering my question - If keeping Voronin allowed Rafa to get his first choice striker as apposed to his 2nd or 3rd would you still want to get rid of him?

The bottom line is Voronin just is not good enough IMO so I would let him go. If we were looking for a back-up striker to play 3rd or 4th choice I would seriously consider an older experienced player - maybe someone like Julio Cruz of Inter."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." sometimes if you wait for the full picture before you act you get left behind.Originally posted by rudedog View PostOf course thats true but its not answering my question - If keeping Voronin allowed Rafa to get his first choice striker as apposed to his 2nd or 3rd would you still want to get rid of him?

Come on this is simple get rid of voronin and promote nemeth. Rafa has yet to successfully progress a player from the reserves into a regular 1st team player. It's clear Nemeth, Plessis and Insua can potentially do this, it'll be a big boost to the rest of the kids and the fans. I'd rather have these as 3rd or 4th choice. How will doing this instead of keeping pigeon cost us money or prevent rafa from getting his 1st choice striker?
Infact I reckon Nemeth is on far less money than ponytail pigeon. So if we continue your trail of thought the money saved in wages between nemeth and pigeon could be used to offer better personal terms and help secure no1 target.
