Good squad player who will score goals. And creative. There aren't too many of them around. Remember his pass to Fernando in the CL 2nd leg.
Jellyfish are 97% water or something, so how much are they doing? Just give them another 3% and make them water. It's more useful

Maybe it is,but He`ll not be required for the massive games but will contribute in assists and goals even more in his second season.

yes, but he can be improved upon, if a good offer came in then we should really look to take it.

                  Aye, quality player.

I'd of been gutted if we sold him.

Could say that for a lot of players in the squad I guess. But if we could get a profit on what we paid I'd accept. I don't think there is really any position that best suits Yossi.

He aint a winger and he aint a CM. The only position I could think is where Gerrard plays. It would be interesting to see him play there in the event of an injury. But I think Babel would do better there.

If we could bring in a coupl of decent wingers I would let go of Yossi. But with Kewell having left I think we would struggle to replace two.

                        me

Rafa Benitez loves me so I'm staying put - Yossi Benayoun
Jul 8 2008 by Tony Barrett, Liverpool Echo

YOSSI BENAYOUN has spoken of his desire to build on an "excellent" first season at Anfield by remaining with Liverpool, despite interest from other Premiership clubs.

Manchester City and Tottenham are both keen to recruit the Israeli international midfielder but Benayoun believes there is no chance of Liverpool cashing in on him because Reds boss Rafa Benitez “loves” him.

The former West Ham man told Israeli national newspaper Ha’aretz: “It seems the media in Israel and England are in a contest to see who’s more bored during the slow summer months.

“The media in England published a story that Rafael Benitez told me finally that I’m staying at Liverpool.

“These reports are the work of the writer’s imagination because, even before the season ended, we determined that I would be staying.

“Benitez told me unequivocally that he brought me here, that I had a very good season, that he’s depending on me and that there’s no way I’ll leave Liverpool.

“I have very good chemistry with Benitez. He loves me. He bought me. I really enjoy being with him, moreover, I had an excellent season. I even surprised myself.

“Benitez didn't want to hear and isn’t prepared to hear about any possibility of letting me go at any price.”

In his debut season with Liverpool, Benayoun scored 11 goals in 48 appearances although he regularly had to settle for a place on the bench.

But he insists the only way he would leave the club would be if he was told he was no longer wanted.

He added: “Liverpool is good for me and it was always clear I want to stay and Liverpool wants me. I got better offers financially but these tempting offers don’t change my mind.

“If Liverpool wouldn’t want me, I’d leave there in seconds. Even if I had a contract, if I understood they didn’t want me, I’d get up right away and leave.

                        “But I’m not leaving Liverpool.”

Aye, good news. Versatile, creative, reliable & never complains.

Shame he looks like Cardinal Richlieau from Dogtanian tho, poor bloke.
                          3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Yossi will be much better than Babel in that 'hole'. Reason being, you need creativity aswell as a wicked shot, Babel has no creativity, he can score and has a blistering shot, but he cannot see a through ball etc.

Look at the other players who play there, Fabregas, Scholes, Lampard and co they all have creativity in them rather than the raw pace even though they can all score. Something Babel can hopefully learn as he ages.

You should be comparing them to Lucas not Babel.

But your point is well taken that Babel plays a very direct game and has not, yet at least, developed the vision of players like Fabregas and Yossi.

By the same token though, Yossi does not having the shooting ability that Babel does and hence no-one will displace SG from the hole as he has absolutely everything.

Rafa loves all his players, so long as they show this sort of commitment. Nice one Yossi. Knows his place and doesn't moan about it.
