Glen Johnson anyone? Vastly improved, affordable (unless Pompey played silly buggers like most English clubs do) and first team material IMO.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Had a very good season but they'll probably ask for £10m or something stupid like that.

I like glen johnson - i remember watching him at west ham when he first started and thinking ****ing hell - thats the end of gary neville's england career. He ****ed going to chelsea (like so many young, english and breaking through players - swp, scott parker, wayne bridge etc)

he was ****ing class for pompey. I'd take him but theyw ould wnat something silly for him

Yep, would happily take him, hes matured into a fine player. But Harry knows how to get over the odds for his players just look at Muntari leaving for £12.7m.

Good player, but as others have said he'd more than likely cost a pretty penny.

Even if Arbeloa goes I can't see us signing another right back unless there's money left over after we've secured all our other transfer targets.

                Get Gary Neville in.

I always thought he was a better left back than right.
I don't think Darby is ready for the first team, doesn't seem physically strong enough just yet.
Imagine a right hand side of Darby and Pennent

                      From Tony Barrett's article today:

Reports coming out of Spain suggesting Alvaro Arbeloa is looking to leave Liverpool are news to the club, who have not had any indication from either the player or his agent that he wants to move.

They are words from his own mouth, not from seeing him on a pitch.
                        Must be true then?!

I'd like to see Darby given a chance. I've been very impressed with him, albeit in friendlies and watching on TV. As people have said, we've got Degen and Carra so I don't see the need for panic.

Hope we get a good price for him

agreed, poor player, just cos he's versatile people think he is some use, look back, anylise his game, especially the semi of the e-cup.

Maybe it's a good idea to get rid of Arbeloa. It's only a matter of time before he seriously injurs one of our goal scorers with his celebrations. Love the enthusiasm, but jumping on players at head height isn't a good idea.

He played in the Euro's so maybe he's liked over in Spain, I'm clutching at straws like but I think we should hold out for at the least £6 million.
