A lot of money, probably about 5 million too much really, but, unlike Barry, he will make us a better team. Sometimes you have a feeling that a player might realy click at a club and I'm starting to have that feeling about Keane. With Torres along side him, and Stevie behind, he might turn into something really special. The closer this one gets, the better I feel about it.Originally posted by Robbie-9-Fowler View PostI'm starting to get excited because no matter what people might say he IS a fantastic player and WILL make us a better team.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

Yeah I know exactly what you mean and going back even 3 months ago possibly longer. I remember people asking the question " who would be the perfect partner for Torres " and Robbie Keane's name was mentioned by loads of people. Lets just hope he signs now and Rick doesn't mess up the transfer.Originally posted by Operation View PostA lot of money, probably about 5 million too much really, but, unlike Barry, he will make us a better team. I'll take any amount of money you'll put up. If you really think we'll copy a manc song word for word you really dont have much knowledge about our support.Originally posted by Jan Molby View PostI think it will def be chanted, in fact, i'd be willing to bet on it.
If you dont think it will be chanted, i think you are fooling yourself.
I do agree with chanting it at OT, when he bags a couple...that would be special
Yeah it'd probably be chanted as a piss take at Old Trafford if he's scored the winner and we're locked in after the game but for any other game, no way including Sunderland.

I know plenty about our support mate thank you, plenty.
But you may not have a good handle on people or football in general, and thats okay, dont feel bad about your inadequacies.
It is not just a scum song, it has been sung by many teams (before scum got it), including spurs and ireland, and some lower league teams.
And as for "word for word", there's not that many words are there?
You see i think that it is a song that will go with robbie (as it has so far), travel with him, and a song that will be song by our fans, especially when he starts to score......it's not just a scum song mate.....
I am too aware of the sinificance of the song, but do you really think that we will sign a player for 18 to 20 mill (as reports suggest) and not sing his name when he scores a goal?
Really?
No body in the crowd is gonna go "keano", which will lead to "theres only one keano"?
Over a 5 year contract, no one will sing this?
Is he going to be the exception, probably the only exception to this in our recent history....not to sing his name when he scores?
We have done that with all our players at some stage, sung their name.
I for one will be proud to sing it when he knocks the goals in (its his song now), and as i do, with the liver bird on the jersey, and my chest (more like my belly now unfortunatley) stuck out proud as ****, singing keanos name, if some tit thinks that i might be dedicating/directing/refencing that to roy ****ing keane, instead of our new hero & strike partner to f torres, then thats there problem.
These are my opinions, I will stick by them.
But I did say I would bet on it, I am not one to be unhonarable and welch on this, other wise you would go to town on me, and hey, you said you "are willing to take any amount of money i put up".
I am willing to wager £250, if you match it, that "there's only one Keano" will be sang by our fans attending an lfc match, and I am also willing to put a time on it, This Season.
And, as you wish, we can exclude when we are locked in after the game, if he scores, at old toilet.
As I am someone that, as you say, "really don't have much knowledge of our support", I think you should take this bet, you are onto a winner.
If ya want, we could make it interesting.
Double the bet, pass the money to the site, let them hold it, and who ever wins, can let the site have it to donate to what ever liverpool cause that they see fit, i know that there are plenty.
What do ya think? I hope Im not making a mistake as i probably "dont have much knowledge of our support".Last edited by Jan Molby; 28-07-08, 11:49 AM.Referee Lubos Michel said: “If my assistant referee had not signalled a goal, I would have given a penalty, and sent off goalkeeper Petr Cech.”

ROBBIE KEANE today completed his medical - edging the striker ever closer to sealing a £20m move to Anfield.
The Irish international arrived in Liverpool last night and was booked in for a series of tests at a Merseyside hospital.
A fee of £18m with add ons of up to £2m has been agreed with Spurs and terms have been agreed with the player.
Liverpool had been looking to tie up the deal early last week but the transfer was held up as Tottenham looked to find a replacement for the White Hart Lane crowd favourite.
Keane, a boyhood Liverpool fan, is desperate to complete the move and once the formalities of the medical are completed the 28-year-old striker should get his wish.
Though Keane’s arrival would make him the second most expensive player ever signed by Liverpool – only Fernando Torres has cost more – it will not stop Rafa Benitez from pursuing his interest in Gareth Barry.
Despite suggestions from Aston Villa boss Martin O’Neill that Liverpool are losing interest in the England midfielder, Benitez’s interest in Barry has never wavered.
O’Neill, who is demanding around £20m for Barry, said: “Having not heard from Liverpool for some time it is clear that we value him more than they do.
“We obviously don’t want him to go, so the price we are asking for him is a fair and realistic one for a player who is so good. In fact, I think it is really cheap.
“My own view is that he should hang around for another year and see if we can make further progress.”
Benitez’s desire to snare Barry hasn’t lessened one bit, however, and the Reds boss is determined to do everything in his power to ensure he ends up at Anfield.
But in the absence of any acceptable offers being made for Xabi Alonso, it is highly unlikely that Liverpool’s American owners will loosen the purse strings to allow Benitez to splash the cash on Barry.
That is likely to mean the wheeling and dealing will continue at Anfield to bring in the funds needed to stand a chance of signing the Villa man.
Meanwhile, Philipp Degen is set to undergo minor surgery on a groin injury and is likely to be ruled out for a fortnight.
Steven Gerrard has returned to full training after a short spell on the sidelines, however. The Reds skipper is expected to join his team mates on the trip to Spain for Wednesday night’s friendly against Villarreal.
