A flair player is what we need. If we sell Pregnnant, Voronin, Finnan and Itandje, we should have around 14m (err on the side of caution figures) plus the few million left from the budget might be enough for Rafa to go for Barry. I wouldn't go for Barry. I would wait for another season and see how Chabby took the criticism and how he responds from it.

The budget looks very different if you include El Jefecito in this years spend. 8m vs. 25m!

I think at the end of the day, every penny Rafa spends is borrowed, and has to be paid back at some point by the Yanks. The amounts they have borrowed so far were to finance the team, and start the stadium.

So I guess once the amount allocated to the team is spent, then that is it. From that point on things are going to be very tight, as the interest will become a huge outlay once stage 2 of the stadium begins.

This summer could be the last one where we see big money spent on a player. I cant really see Barry coming in, or anyone else without Alonso going.
