A question, if in your daily jobs you continued to make the same mistake year-in-year out and did so for four or five years, do you think you would have continued to be employed? I don't think you would

Width problem has not been addressed. Dossena is a good acquisition...but Degen...I'll be surprised if he manages 18 league games next season.

I'm surprised we aren't in for a player like VDV who is going at half the price of Barry and who would be a much better fit in the formation we play or are going to play according to some

No but if I did a really good job, strenghtened the company year in year out, made it a truly international class firm again and raised it's prestige right back to where it should be again I wouldn't expect dipsticks to moan that bluechip companies with far better resources were achieving a little more. In fact I'd think that anyone that did moan was a bit of a tit, no?

As such I dont want to contemplate Rafa leaving and im 99.9% that he will be the one to guide us to No.19, be it this year or 5 years down the line. If we continue to progress we will do it at some stage. As soon as we start falling back and Rafa loses the plot then sack him.

I dont think anyone should be calling for his head in July before the season even starts though, its just wrong.

For Yernited it was the league and the champions league...All footy fans are one-eyed but that takes the biscuit. Imagine if we had just won the double (the 21st century double - League and Champions League) and some Yernited fan said that were a little behind us if they had finished fourth.....get real. We have some real catching up to do.

Cracking comeback Sarb, must have taken you ages to come up with that lovely counter-argument.

If you want facts here they are
Houllier averaged 65.6 points a season, while the winning average was 85 points
Rafa averages 71 points per season, while the average is now 90.5 points

If you take away both of their first seasons (Houllier/Evans joint and Rafa's first) the averages change as follows:
                          Houllier 68/86.2
                          Rafa 75.33/89

                          So the facts are that
                          1. We are doing better points wise under Rafa
                          2. It is harder to win the league under Rafa
Case closed. Rafa should get another season at least. Personally I wouldn't mind if he was our manager until he keeled over The league is Anfield bound soon
Sack swinging like Dub-D40 on a door hinge

so if we go off them stats houllier got 77.17% of the points necessary to win the league during his time whilst rafa got 78.45% of the points necessary to win the league. so that's a 1.28% improvement - wow!

i work with governments, stats can be used to pretty much say anything, more often than not they're used to cover the truth! so off these stats we're closer but still 21.55% away from the total points needed to win the league, not really a significant improvement over houllier.

Now i'm not talking about the type of football we play nor about the potential of this current team over houlliers - but then i was not the one that introduced stats into this debate.

case far from closed as at this rate of improvement of 1.28% over four seasons then we have the best part of another 20 years before we compete.

That's not because I'm gobsmacked, it's just a really really big yawn.

You seem to totally disregard Istanbul, Athens and just generally that we're a massive European force again in your tiresome whinge. Change the record man.
