Now obv it could be his last season - if we were ****ing ****e, but the same could be send about Wenger(how seasons without a trophy now?), Scolari(you never know what those crazy joke of a club will do), Fergie (he's pushing on, if the mancs struggled he might think it's time to go)

Shall I go on through the rest of he league!! - it's easy to do
    Nicely summed up.

And to think I was just going to post "**** thread."

wenger will never get sacked - he's won too much there.

fergie will not leave this year, he'll want to beat our title haul

scolari is a good coach and will be given at least 2 seasons

rafa's had four seasons and is further away from the title than houllier was. this will be his last season if he fails to sustain a genuine challenge. if we're playing serious catch up by xmas again this season then he should go!

For the first time in many years i am very very very excited about our first 11!!

We will do very well in the league this season, i am certain of it. Rafa will make us challenge. We have a strong first 11 now and some very exciting prospects coming through the youth ranks now.

          ..............Reina
          Carra Skrtle Agger Dossena
          Gerrard Mascher Lucas(ALONSO) Babel
          ...........Keane Torres

Absolutely fantastic line-up. Can't wait. Agger is back!!! Watch out for Lucas too, he will shine this season. He came on well at the end of last season and he has dominated the pre-season games with little support. Once he is back from the Olympics he will push on and get better and better. Also Alonso now has a point to prove and im confident he will be out to show everyone he's still got it.

Can't ****ing wait. The deadwood is clearing, this is Rafa's team to challenge.

The fact is we're closer than ever.

no that's an opinion. the facts are there to see through looking at the league tables over the last decade

The other fact is there is no obvious candidate to replace him. Who is better than Rafa, might come here and win the league?
It's easy to distract fat people. It's a piece of cake.

Not really, when you consider the fact that the quality of opposition has massively improved, Chelsea have become a one club money wasting machine etc etc then your FACT doesn't really mean jack ****.

You obviously can't picture out 'abstract' facts.

Houllier did not have to compete with Chelsea's billions though did he? Do you think Rafa is some sort of Magican where he can overcome all the odds with an average squad?

Your a very naive man you know that. The money spent by Chelsea and Man Utd over the last 5 years is precisely why Rafa has had such a difficult task and not many people could have seriously expected him to compete for the title with such an uneven balance.

Last season we def closed the gap, down to 11 points. If it hadnt been for that blip around xmas time we would have won the league, or if we had fared better in 1 or 2 games against the top 4.

Whats happened over the last 5 years is that everytime we add a quality player to our squad, our rivals have spent even more. Rafa isn't a magician, he can only do the best he can with the cards he is dealt.

And you ignore context and the fact the Chelsea have completely changed the situation and the fact that he has gotten our highest points total since the inception of the Premier League and has consistently got us in the Champions League and turned us into a team that is capable of winning it. Getting rid of Rafa would just mean starting again and it would be foolish.

here we go with the rafa apologists. lets reinterpret the definition of the word fact.

houllier finished second in the league - rafa has not.

houllier still had a chance to win the league in the last 10 games of a season - rafa has not.

Unless its a terrible season then I would be more than happy for him to stay. He is building towards the future and just not today and if people cant see that then they should open there eyes to how much work he has done.
You just cant wave a magic wand and expect us to win the league, every season we are getting better in my eyes and will be even better when some of the youth makes it to the first team. It's a huge task to be able to compete with United and Chelsea in the league and there is no better man than Rafa to get us there.
Since he joined we are now one if not the most feared teams in Europe, which has helped fill the clubs bank account and brought us players like Torres. All the top players want to play in the Champs league and they know with Rafa he will get them far into it.
