We all want us to improve but some of us don't think sacking a world class manager would make that happen.

but i would say that if by xmas we have no chance of winning the league and are left to look forward to a battle for 4th with the bitters you would have to look at the situation.

Ah, the old "i go to games so my opinion counts more than yours" argument. We bow to your superior knowledge of half time pie quality, to be fair, but when it comes to football matters even people who only get to watch the game on tv can have an opinion, and quite often a valid, well thought out one.

in all honesty, i'd be disappointed - from where things seem to be at the moment - if we didn't finish above arsenal. and i also thing that chelsea under scolari are no certainty to be a major challenge. if scolari is all about attacking football to the detriment of his defence , this could be meat and drink to rafa.

Weirdly, under the great that was Shanks, we won 52% of our games, yet under Rafa we've won 55% of the games, yet been no where near as successful (so far). It was either easier to win in the old days, but that would be doing a diservice to Shankly, or it's a much more level playing field nowadays and Benitez ain't doing so bad after all, slowly building a squad, keeping the cashflow coming in and improving our team year on year?

I just think he's a realist. The task at hand for Rafa seems to be underestimated by many, not necessarily fans, but to overturn the Scum & The Sickeningly wealthy Chavs is a monumental task that takes many years to organise, especially if it's to be more than just a lucky one off.

I just think he's a realist. The task at hand for Rafa seems to be underestimated by many, not necessarily fans, but to overturn the Scum & The Sickeningly wealthy Chavs is a monumental task that takes many years to organise, especially if it's to be more than just a lucky one off.
