    Our transfer spending this summer...

...we have DEFINITELY not spent the most in terms of net transfer dealings.
I did a bit of research & came up with the following:
    1.) Villa - £28.9 million net spent
2.) Man City - £27.1 million net spent
    3.) Sunderland - £20.16 million net spent
    4.) Fulham - £14.18 million net spent
    5.) Stoke - £13.05 million net spent
    6.) Bolton - £13 million net spent
    7.) LFC - £12.05 million net spent
    8.) Newcastle - £10.45 million net spent
    9.) Chelski - £10.2 million net spent
10.) West Brom - £8.55 million net spent
    11.) Hull - £6.25 million net spent
    12.) Wigan - £5.1 million net spent
    13.) Arsenal - £2.95 million net spent
    14.) Boro - £1.7 million net spent
    15.) Pompey - £1.2 million net profit
16.) West Ham - £1.6 million net profit
    17.) Spurs - £3.12 million net profit
    18.) Manure - £6.75 million net profit
    19.) Neverton - £10.5 net profit
    20.) Blackburn - £13.5 million net profit

Updated as of Valero's transfer to WBA on 22 Aug...

I did a bit of research & came up with the following:
1.) Manure - £29 million net spent (including iminnent Tevez deal)
2.) Man City - £20 million net spent
    3.) Sunderland - £18.66 million net spent
    4.) Villa & Bolton - £13 million net spent
    6.) LFC - £12.05 million net spent
    7.) Chelski - £10.2 million net spent
    8.) Stoke - £8.5 million net spent
9.) Fulham - £8.18 million net spent (about to splash out on Johnson as well)
    10.) Spurs - £5.2 million net spent
    11.) Wigan - £5.1 million net spent
12.) Arsenal - £5 million net spent (They are OFFICIALLY a selling club)
    13.) Hull - £3.75 million net spent
    14.) Newcastle - £3 million net spent
    15.) Boro - £2.7 million net spent
16.) West Brom - £1.85 million net spent
    17.) Neverton - £0 net spent
18.) West Ham - £1.6 million net profit
    19.) Pompey - £4.2 million net profit
    20.) Blackburn - £13.5 million net profit

Obviously the transfer season is far from over but this just shows that we haven't really been that extravagant in the transfer market yet have made some decent buys. Sunderland, Man City, Villa & Bolton have all spent more than us, plus with the possible sales of Voronin, Itandje & Pennant we should still have quite a bit more in the kitty methinks...
You didn't include El Jefecito, did you?

He's subtracted the incoming transfer fees e.g. Keane from what they've spent.

They sold half their squad to Sunderland and took £20mill of us. Not sure how much they've spent themselves but Dos Santos and Modric were fairly cheap. I expect them to make a couple more signings though but they could be funding them by selling Berbetov.

I have to say it is a bit tough on United to include the speculate future Tevez deal which may or may not be done this summer. It is interesting to see that we are not as high up the list as many suppose. Still a fair way to go before the end of the window though.

The Tevez deal will definitely be done before the start of the season. I think Manure are concentrating on getting as much cash as possible from Real at the mo. Also they will use the money from Ronaldo to buy Tevez & Berbatov, that's y the Berbatov deal hasn't gone through yet either...

The fact that there are so many more deals that could potentially happen before the transfer deadline makes lists like this are a bit pointless at this stage of the summer.
I mean I hate Man U as much as the next man BUT Tevez isn't a done deal, and their overall wheeling and dealing is far from over with possible lucrative exits for Ronaldo and Saha. Even if they spunk a load on Berbatov or whoever I reckon we may end up outspending them, with the Barry Transfer on the cards.
The fact is we're playing catch up, so if anything, the fact we're splashing large sums of money on key players is reassuring. The main thing is that we're also doing well recouping money, and we'll probably scrap together some more once the likes of Pennant and Voronin do one.

Ok the list has been updated showing only done deals. I haven't included Itandje's sale to PSG/Gala yet either as it has not been confirmed...
