I don't see it as Carte Blanche, every body on this site almost, agreed not so long ago that it's better for a manager to have the say on all things football, i would include in that judgement, what price is worth paying for a player, and if what he'll give to LFC for the price is worth it.

We are talking about a difference of 3-4 mill here, as the reason H&G wont buy, not 20mill or something.

I ask again, so where is he going to go where they will give him 100% charge of footballing matters... ?

My god talk about a complete over reaction to this statement. Again i believe this is nothing more than a bargaining tactic from liverpool to put Villa into a corner as they now know Barry has no other option but to leave and now Villa are faced with two options.

1. Drop their price now for Barry and receive a reasonable amount of cash.
2. Keep up with the £18m Valuation and then risk losing him for next to nothing in January or next summer.

Rafa and the board are not soft and Rafa has a history of not paying more than he thinks a player is worth. FFS if he was not willing to buy Alves for £14m There is no chance in hell he was ever going to pay £18m for Barry. Even if and it is a big if he was willing to pay £18m for Barry it sounds like Villa have moved the goal posts about how it is paid and in turn have pissed LFC off who are now in no mood to **** about over this and as a result have released this statement to force Villas hand.

Rafa and the LFC board will be in this together of that i am sure. Like Rafa said it is not about money but it will be more about how stubborn villa have been. If Rafa was going to walk there is no way in hell the board would have given him £20m to buy Keane.

I am pretty sure this is all part of the game.

I don't give a toss where Rafa may go to get 100% say on transfers, because i hope he stays right here. I wasn't attempting to answer the question, because you infer that Rafa has Carte Blanche at Liverpool, which i disagree with.

Rafa should say who we sign, H&G have the money, he's just a couple of mill to dear they say, well i say let Rafa be the judge of that, seeing as we can afford him.

If however they didn't have the cash, Rafa wouldn't be going for Barry in the first place, he cant order the club to pay for a player regardless, so NOT CARTE BLANCHE. imo.

Not sure of the accuracy of this report, but you never know Rafa's judgement as now been called in question twice by our owners that would be more than enough for most people to resign

Nah, Rafa wouldn't consider his options. Thats a knee jerk, getting hits on my site sort of link. Rafa would never has much freedom in terms of footballing set up behind the scenes anywhere (available). He would hate to work at Real, Calderon buying allsorts of players for you that aren't needed and you are constantly under pressure to play a certain style and play those players. Bollocks story.
