Houllier had a long phase of playing Murphy on the left (or indeed on the right) but you're right, he's a centre mid.

Murphy was one of the poorer central midfield players to play for LFC in recent years. He was awful. And he DID play right mid quite a lot under GH. ANother poor decision. The only thing he did was a score a few freekicks and pens against the Scum.

He's not at all what I want and expect of LFC standard CMs. He's found his level at Fulham imho. Even Spurs worked out how crap he was.

Huh? He was predominantly used on the left/right wings by Houllier. Do you recall a certain partnership in midfield of Hamann and Gerrard? If Murphy played in midfield, did Gerrard and Hamann play on the wings? Don't you remember him Murphy playing on left wing against United at Old trafford when he scored the winning goal (can't remember which year). He tore Gary Neville apart that game

Are you serious? Danny murphy?

Not now obviously but when he played he was a good centre mid. How you can say he was awful is beyond me.

I rate Yossi as being a good squad member but he's got to be played on the right now. It's destroying his confidence playing on the left as he's not got a left foot so always has to stop and cut back.

The only reason he doesn't get played on the right is cos it would mean dropping Kuyt, which Rafa seems completely against doing.
