    Long term: Sktrel V Agger.

Do people see Agger being kept out of side long term?
Are you, like me, finding it difficult to choose who's best for us at CB?
Heaven forbid, is there even a case for Agger and Sktrel and dropping Carra.

I can see skrtel keeping his place, seems to me Rafa sees it as his shirt to loose, and fair play he's been brilliant.

However, it's hard to forget how good Agger was before his injury, and with us struggling in creating chances at the moment, he really offers us something neither skrtel or carra offer; an offensive threat.

So I'd be happy to see him back in, he opens things up with his passing and pushes the other team back further upfield, he can be a threat with his shooting too.

I think, if I'm honest I see Agger in long term rather than skrtel, but then the realities say skrtel is doing nothing wrong, in fact he's been a great success.

We're blessed in centre back position at moment, one of few things that I can rest easy about with liverpool at the moment.

Edit: Can someone fix spelling mistake in title to skrtel, shoddy work by me

Long term it will be them together with Carra as back up - Hyypia style.

Can't believe I'm saying this but I voted Skrtel.

I'm not only taking into account actual playing ability but mentality too. I have no insight whatsoever but I feel Skrtel is a straightforward, no-nonsense pro and I have one or two doubts about Agger's mentality/temperament.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Not worried about what either brings to our attack, their one and only job is to defend and do it well, anything else is a bonus. On that score Skrtel has been ahead of Agger who's looked dodgy since his return. It's up to him to dislodge Carra or Skrtel short term, long term it'll be him and Skrtel.

That's how I see it too.

This time next year, Carra will either be sitting on the bench, or filling in at right back.

            Agger is a better player.

A better footballer. Not necessarily a better defender though.

a fully fit agger offers more to the team so its agger for me
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

We enjoy more possession with Agger in the team, therefore the opposition have less of the ball, therefore we have to deal we less threats during the game, therefore Agger is the better defender.

I really like Skrtl and I think he isn't that bad at bringing the ball forward. Plus he looks like a Serbian hitman

I love skrtel but i fancy a combination of a really defensive cb (carra or skrtel) with a ball playing cb like agger.

So for me its Agger No.1 choice then one of Carra or Skrtel.

That said at present id pick Carra at rb and play the other 2 cb as even if its not his best position he is still by miles our best rb.

                      Team comes first.

                          Long term both.

This season dunno, I get the feeling that we need Skrtel's physical presence perhaps more than Agger's ability on the ball.

All 3. Carra is the communicator at the back and will play most games
Oh the man is a midfield maestro
and his passes are sooo delightful

For the next couple of years we will should be pretty strong at the back because we have Carra, Skrtle and Agger all able to cover the 2 positions. 50-60 games are alot and your cannot expect 2 players to manage them all.

Long-term obviously the idea is Skrtle and Agger together. 1 right footer and 1 left footer. Perfect combination. 1 solid no nonsense defender and 1 skillful defender who can take play forward
