True £30m is a tad pricey, but he's a class act. May not have scored a shed load himself but excellent at bringing others into play and providing assists.

Wouldn't have fancied his sulks mind.

So who persuaded El Voro to sign?
      Really?

Will the FA do anything about Fergies "Professional" approach?

True. Berbatov was the Scum training ground and they didn't even have Spurs' permission to speak to the player.

As has been said, it also helps when the manager has overwhelming spending power.

Anyway, on came the Berbatov video. Fergie met him at the airport, took him off in his Bentley and then arrived at his office to discuss the offer. Fergie put in the effort, made the ego feel wanted and special.

I'm not sure how we do things here, but from Rafa's comments about the Barry saga, he is not involved, its all Parry. I'm sure a similar thing happened when Owen went to Newcastle. Owen was whisked off with both Souness and Shearer who then sat with him (at Sounesses place I think) for several hours and again made him feel wanted. We held our discussions at a hotel, and I'm sure Rafa wasn't involved. At the end of the day, Newcastle offered a **** load of money to Real for his services and we couldn't match it, but thats not the point.

We have Parry doing our deals. The guy is not charismatic, he comes across to me as a bit of a bumbling cross between Tony Blair and Hugh Grant. He's not Alex Ferguson, thats for sure.

Of course Fergie is being backed financially to buy these players and Rafa is not, but, if we were able to spend and bring in a top class player or two every season, who do you think would win a negotiation? Parry who would no doubt meet up with said player in a Holiday Inn or Fergie who would be there to shake your hand off the plane? Rafa himself is not known for his communication skills, I think Gerrard himself has said that he doesn't really talk to the lads about anything other than on the training ground.

The Berbatov deal all seemed to slick, professional and rehearsed, I just don't have that feeling about the way we do our business.
Didn't do them much good when they bid for David Silva did it?
