What does that mean for Babel then? A shift to the right?

I think it's game over for Babel at Liverpool. Anyone share this feeling with me??

Eh? No way. He is still warming up infact. He will have a massive season for us once he is properly let loose

No. I do share the feeling that you jump to the easiest conclusion though.

Until he builds up the required stamina to play on the wing for us, he will be used as a super sub. And lets be honest here, he plays the role pretty well

Couldn't agree more. the guy has been pretty effective coming off the bench, no doubt about it.

Would love to think that Rafa and the coaching staff could harness that potential and get him delivering quality over 90 minutes......could be our new John Barnes!

How am I jumping to the easiest conclusion when there is no easy conclusion?

I just get the feeling with Rafa's track record that he doesn't feel Babel fits into his way of thinking/playing and will move him on in the same way he did with Gonzalez (Gonzalez was pants though).

I'm a big fan of Babels'- every none liverpool supporter I know rates Babel. He lacks consistency but he is without a doubt a potential world beater. Babel was our most effective player when it came to attacking and defending last year according to Tomkins. We created more opportunities on goal and conceded less goals when he was on the pitch.

After seeing him play up front on a fair few occasions for the dutch and seeing him the odd time play on the right, I feel his best position is on the left wing/inside left. I'm just getting the gut instinct Rafa will sell him at the end of the year if he recieves a good offer. The fact he has barely featured for us since returning from the olympics is worrying as he is clearly match fit and he looked decent against Australia on Saturday where he played for 82 mintues.

Spot on with both points. Do you feel he will be content with being used as a sub frequently?

I would have played Babel off Torres and spent the £20m on Keane on good wingers instead

I hate the fact that he needs to build up the required stamina to play on the wing. Hes a young lad, it should be easy for him. Barring injuries, which he has had a few of, he should be one of the fittest players in the squad. If not, questions need to be asked about why he isnt? I got majorly pissed off with him running out of steam after 60-70mins at the back end of last season.

3 games in to the season, and Babel is now being classed as a "sub"?? The lads just got back from the olympics, missed half of pre-season cos of that and his injury, and people are wondering why he's not starting games yet...ever thought he just might not be ready?

It's hardly like he was a bit part player last season, and i doubt he will be this season. He and Riera will be rotated, i'm sure Kuyt will get a rest, and Keane and Torres too...Babel will start his fair share of games, and will come on as sub in his fair share too.
