The point is that it's always difficult to win trophies but to say that Houllier's duds who won a European Cup and an FA Cup were not even good enough to be reserves and squad players is ridiculous.

Rafa didn't need to buy 50 players, keeping 20 and buying 20 good ones would have sufficed. That way he could have bought better quality without obsessing over squad players and then moaning about our rivals spending big one ONE player etc.

I made my point in an earlier post. The point I say this is proof of is that the whole of the premier league has improved, not just the top four. This makes winning the league or winning a trophy harder. If Portsmouth are capable of winning the FA Cup does this not show the improvement and tehrefore prooves my point.

Obviously not,but some things in this game you can not legislate for.
Playing a team who are in the biggest game of their lives while you are concentrating in slightly bigger cups and leagues means that occasionally you get beaten by a smaller team.We`re not the 1st big team to lose to the likes of Barnsley mate.
