Mate, the reason he didn't start was because he is so dangerous when the opposition tires and that was the plan. As the season goes on Babel will play more and more and more

No way can u drop Keane and Kuyt was excellent today

Keane is just getting out of 1st gear and i think he will smash stoke next week. Just a case of getting going. Kuyt was awesome today

Give the boss credit where it's due, Rafa got it right today big time and brought Babel on do damage them at exactly the right time

      Kuyt 9/10 for me today

I too think he needs more starts, with riera looking a kwality player for the left and Kuyt looking menacing up front, id say play Babel on the right, id certainly prefer him there than yossi.

Against stoke next week, at anfield, we should play all the attacking players.

        Reina

        Arbeloa
        Skrtel
        Agger
        Dossena

        Babel
        Xabi
        Gerrard
        Riera

        Keane
        Torres

7-0 & Thank you very much

Babel still doesnt look in top shape to me. Carrying a few extra pounds. This will be the season that he becomes the player he should be though.

Babel is a bigger threat. Keane looks desperately short of confidence.

I think Kuyt did well today but is better when he plays up front than on the right. I personally think there's more balance and flow to the team when Kuyt doesn't play on the right. Up top his work rate put the United defence under pressure and gave them no time on the ball, too often we're happy to let teams have the ball at the back and not really press them

I agree with that but I'd give him time to get his first goal, I think not having scored for us yet is clearly weighing on his mind, hopefully he can sort than in his next game

Thats an excellent point, its Kuyts work rate that makes him an acceptable player wide right, but up top it makes us a far more balanced and threatening team. Thats what Rushie used to do and if kuyt plays up top, and like that id be made up.

IMO the 4-2-3-1 formation suits us better.

I think everyone gets fooled by his work rate, his first touch and passing at times are still **** and playing well for him is no more than a 7 out of 10. He offers nothing that Babel or Riera offers apart from work rate.

I left him out as I thought he may be injured...thats all. He is our most important player bar none I think and hes even getting better going forward. Hes ****ing fast at times!!

Babel is best coming off the bench
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

Are you watching Manchester United? Are you watching Chelsea? This is Liverpool F.C taking over the bloody world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think Rafa is using Babel perfectly. He's shown to be a better player coming off the bench.
Obviously in time Rafa will look to start him more.
                            He was electric today.

I agree that he's a massive talent but I think he still needs to be brought through and is not ready for 90 minutes week in week out.

He's far, far too good to be sitting on the bench. He's already proven that.

I think it would be wrong to label him merely an impact player so early in his career.

This time next week I'd love to see him start against Stoke.
He started near enough every game towards the end of last season.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

                                I disagree...100%

Kuyt worked hard (mostly chasing the ball he gave away or the ball he knocked on from his terrible first touch) and missed 2 absolute sitters. He set the goal up very well, but man of the match....not by a million miles.

And I'm not saying this to get a rise out of anyone, I genuinely thought there were moments today where Kuyt looked awful. Saying that, the first half most of the team did.
