**** all to do with Rafa or Kuyt's overall influence on the game.
We should be wallowing in the victory, not ****ing microanalysing everybodies performance with a view to criticise them

**** me it was a great team performance and everybody contributed

True, it was a superb result and Dirk played well.

      Still a **** finish mind.

Yes it was a superb result and yes Dirk played well

Have you thought about critising Keane for not scoring yet for us........you could even start a new thread on the subject

Keane's desperation to score is visible and on a couple of occasions, he thrashed at the ball instead of opting for a more intelligent method of shot. It'll come though.

He worked his backside off and never gave the United back four a minute to relax.

          Well in.

Ok. Kuyt was nowhere near man of the match today. He should have had a hattrick today. In big games sometimes you only get one chance and the measure of a good striker is to be able to take them chances.IMO we will never win a league starting Dirk Kuyt. Now Id admire his work rate and effort. Its fantastic but he lacks quality imo.He would not get into the other 3 top teams.I would like to see babel and riera as the wingers in this team. I think Kuyt would be a perfect sub to bring on and protect a lead. He can come on and work his socks off defensively. But for me a non starter and not enough quality to hurt teams

Perhaps Kuyt's improved performance was done to him playing up front and not right midfield.

                Just a thought.
                Oh I don't know.

Still couldn't finish his dinner though. A decent performance on the whole but he wasted two great chances and his profligacy will cost us more often than not. Hope to see him become more of a squad player now we have the likes of Keane and Riera.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Indeed you're right. I just hope Keane gets it together soon though. He needs to chill and let it happen, but at the moment he is not playing great at all.

I wouldn't give him any stick for the first one, the covering players were so close to him that he didn't really have much of an angle for the shot.

The second one though, that should have gone across the goalie. That's instinct to most strikers, but I guess the time out on the wing has deadened those a bit.

Anyway if Kuyt ends up as only a squad player, I'll be chuffed, as he will take some shifting as he offers EVERYTHING you could ever want from a forward except regular goals.

It must be tricky for Keane at the moment though. We haven't really settled as a team yet, we've played a bunch of different formations, trying to work in the new FBs, SG/Torres in and out of the side, late transfer arrivals, pre-season with half the key players missing etc etc.

I still think it's going to take 10 or so games for the team to settle and until we are in the groove Keane is obviously going to be groping about to find the best way to dovetail.

The good thing is a) The fans won't get on his back, b) the manager won't get on his back, and c) He's contributing (significantly) even though he looks a bit of a lost soul.

Good points well made. He is missing chances though (usually missing the whole ball). Like I said, he could do with just chilling a bit. It's a good thing we're winning though, otherwise he would be getting a bit of flack by now.

He hasn't contributed positively in any game except against the Mancs IMO. He has tried and I do think he has the quality to add a great deal to us in the future though. He has been lucky results have gone our way and that criticism has largely been of Rafa otherwise I think he would be getting a lot of stick (even if I don't think he deserves it).

The thing is thought that Keane and Kuyt played a tactically outstanding game but neither looked like scoring. I also thought it was telling that he performed better without Gerrard and Torres in the team. He always seems to start in positions Gerrard wants to be in and end his runs in the same place as Torres when they play together. He is intelligent enough to improve his interplay but we need to get some relationships built up between our best players or I think we will struggle to reproduce performances like that against the Mancs.

On the topic of Kuyt I think he has been one of our steadiest performers in many ways. the problem for him is that in a 4-4-2 or any other formation that asks him to base himself deeper in the pitch he is entirely wasted as he can't carry the ball forward and his work rate produces little or nothing in terms of dangerous possession for our team.

Mate, that's a bit like saying a car offers you everything you could ever want from a vehicle, except getting you from A to B.
