He didn't have a nightmare, he set up our winner and as they say a mark of a match-winner is turning up when necessary. In this game he did well so don't attack him for it, by all means say long term he is nowhere near good enough and I will agree but against United he was the 3rd best player on the pitch behind Alonso and Mascherano.

YAWN - and only scored 12 goals, so he lost his place and didn't play there last season and won't play there this season. Hence he isn't good enough to be a regular centre forward for a top four sideOriginally posted by RedReet View PostHe played CF in his first year and we finished 3rd. 3rd is in the top four last time I checked.Monkey Tennis

Wouldnt disagree but see it more as maximising the teams attacking threat by nullifying the opposition in their own halfs. If we can manage to play nearly the whole game in the other teams half then we will maxmise attacking time. Unfortunately we havent seen this enough this season, but the team seems up to it now and hopefully see more of this complete domination in the upcoming games.Originally posted by BG1973 View PostSome might say it sums Rafa up, concentrating on nullifying the opposition rather than maxmising your own team's attacking threat.

Don't see calling him a donkey being abusive. I've made my remarks as to how useful he is. A donkey is a very useful animal, but not loved and taken for granted.Originally posted by Nicey View PostSo its perfectly fine to abuse players but not each other .. ok I get it .
Calling Kuyt a Donkey ... no class what so ever
Besides there might be a link to Dirk Diggler and a Donkey.*************************

He was one of the best players on the pitch. His passing was good, movement and workrate superb and he assisted the only goal one of our players has scored against that lot in the PL in years. Dirky

Are you stupid or something? ‘’he isn't good enough to be a regular centre forward for a top four side’’. You said that. You said he wasn’t good enough for a top four side when evidence proves he was. We finished 3rd, 3rd is higher that 4th, Kuyt played for us, ie Kuyt played for a top four side. 12 goals were obviously enough to finish 3rd. 30 goals might have been enough for 1st, but obviously the 12 was good enough for 3rd. What don’t you get?Originally posted by hamshanks View PostYAWN - and only scored 12 goals, so he lost his place and didn't play there last season and won't play there this season. He missed one sitter. His first touch wasn’t dreadful, you watch the game again and tell me when it was excluding the two touches in the 87th and 88th minute when he must have been knackered. Likewise, show me these misplaced (sorry garbage) passes.Originally posted by IanTatt View PostHe had a nightmare! missed two sitters, his first touch as a dreadful and his passing at times was garbage, just watch the match again... and you will see that he shouldn't be anyway near the first team... I take it you just read the post match thread and made your assumptions from that rather than watch the game? Why don’t you just throw in a ‘he’s too slow’ for good measure too?If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Some people just slate Kuyt however he plays

So he had a mare, but put in a worldclass performance...
Sometimes i think people just want to jump on the bash Kuyt bandwagon, without actualy having an opinion formed by hemselves, just on hearsay.

I don’t think it was a sitter. If he had of skied it, I’m sure we’d have heard Gray say all he had to do was hit the target and it was a goal. He hit the target but had very little to aim at and no time to think. Fair enough, a better player might have scored, or if he miss-hit it like Babel it might have, but I wouldn’t class it as a sitter.Originally posted by wiw View PostHe missed two to be fair, but nice one defending Dirk

All i will say is that Kuyt needs one to go in the back of the net in the league. He is getting some chances, particularly since he has been back central. When he does he will score more and assist. Keane just needs one, anywhere and he will be away.
After that we will have plenty of goal threat to challenge for the title.
Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

I may be missing something here, but I could have sworn that Van Der Sar pulled off 2 saves (one a good one when sprawled on the floor) from these "sitters"!!
