Has Agger actually come out and expressed any dissatisfaction at not playing or is it all media/internet speculation?
Jellyfish are 97% water or something, so how much are they doing? Just give them another 3% and make them water. It's more useful

There's a Danish guy that posts on another site that saw an interview with Agger on Danish TV, may have been during the international break. They were making a big deal about him not being picked. He said something along the lines of,

No I haven't spoken to Rafa about not being picked, I don't need Rafa to tell me why I haven't been picked, It means I need to work harder to get in the team.

They asked him if he had been offered a new contract and he said, No, I have not been offered a new contract.

The UK press appear to have went with the last line, hence the unease.

We have to give him a new contract. Pronto.

He is one of the best emerging CBs in the game.

he's a class act on the pitch anyway, who knows if his off-field stories are true and im sure they'll get sorted in time. all im glad of is having a potentially world class cb on our books and he should get a new deal soon. its pleasing to know that we have a plethora of defensive talent with him, skittles, san jose, huth, hobbs all promising to be decent players.

agger should start ahead of skittles and be given a chance to play himself back into form. when on form he offers everything skittles does and more. he is an attacking threat as well as a ball playing centre back.

i'd introduce him as a second half sub against everton if we're losing or failing to break the opposition down and let him regain his form and sharpness by playing him week in week out upto xmas. Its exactly what we've tried to do with keane, kuyt, crouch etc.

Skrtel is playing very well with Carra at the moment so Agger will have to wait for a mistake or an injury to dislodge either of them. It would send out the wrong message to the squad and completely destroy Skrtels confidence if he was dropped because of Agger's reputation when he was playing so well.

We have plenty of games coming up and Agger will get game time but you'd have to be a halfwit to drop a very good defender bang on form.

we do it in other areas of the pitch. players would be on fire and they'd get rotated out. an inform agger is better than skittles. sooner we get agger sharp again the better for the team imo.

You'd put a CB on as sub if we''re losing in the derby to start a process of him regaining his form That sounds like a very bad idea to me.

Main thing for me with young Agger is that he looks the type to weigh in with the odd goal now and then... you don't see many defenders stepping up to a free kick like he did last night, lovely strike. We MUST keep hold of this fella...and make him Liverpool through and through....a defender for the next 10yrs.

I agree with that, and have stated it myself in other earlier. Agger offers much more than skrtel because he can go forward with the ball, it takes pressure away from alonso, who in turn can recieve the ball further up the pitch. With skrtel and carra we have to cen def that are scared of taken the ball forward, and that is exactly why we need to get agger back in form and playing.

If Agger could commmand the defence as well as carra, he would be the complete defender. Untill that comes, I think carra and agger is the best choice.

There are certain areas of the pitch which Rafa doesn't really rotate when things are good though mate, the central defence being one. Skrtel has been one of our stand out playes this season and there's no doubt Agger is class but to just **** Skrtel off because of what Agger has done in the past when he's playing so well would just be madness.

I think you're also doing Skrtel a disservice by insinuating that Agger is so much better than him too. There's no doubt that Agger is our best ball playing CB but Skrtel is harder in the tackle, quicker and better in the air IMO so it's not as easy a decision as putting Gerrard or Torres back in after an injury.

This isn't true. Skrtle has shown recently that he is prepared to slow things down and advance from the back with the ball at his feet. Maybe he doesn't have the ability on the ball of Agger, but he certainly isn't scared of taking it forward.

Can't argue with any of that really, but i am such a fan of Agger, if he had'nt got injured he would be a stone wall regular now. imo.

But as you say it would be harsh on Skrtle, then again, football can be like that sometimes.
