I remember seeing the back of your head in the Anny Road.

But yeah it was ****ing dross. Seen some equally bad uns though...Vitesse Arnhem, Basel, Boavista (basically stacks under Houllier ) and many others that escape me.

Every report i've read about it called it a tear and in all honesty, we dont NEED torres or gerrard to beat Stoke at Anfield.

Seems some people never learn. We should treat Stoke the same as Utd. Bet our crowd are quiet as well. How many points have we lost over the years by underestimating so called smaller teams?

I can't stand this "they are a small team so we will batter them attitude". Every game should be like a European semi final against Chelsea or Utd although I have to admit it isn't easy with all seater stadiums. Whether we like it or not, people in a standing crowd were more likely to sing and shout without feeling like a knobheads.

I guess you had to be there in the standing days?

Used to like Stoke coming to Anfield but that was with Gordon Banks in goal. He loved coming here and in case you don't know, his last game was against Liverpool before losing his eye. We won 2-1 I think?

I took a lad I'd just met from halls to the Brum game. It was his first ever trip to Anfield, he was buzzing. It ended 0-0. A week later I took him to his second ever game at Anfield. We got beat 1-0 by Marseille.

The week after that I offered him the chance to come with me again...

"Nah mate, don't fancy it" he said.

          The score ?

          Liverpool 8-0 Besiktas.

          Serves the cunt right.

Lets drop this talk about resting. The players have Wed-Sat to get back to full fitness, more than enough time.

              ------------------------------Reina
              -----------------Carragher Skrtel Hyypia Dossena
              -------------------------Mascherano Alonso
              -----------------------Keane Gerrard Riera
              ------------------------------Torres

Fact is mate, you cant pick your strongest team for every single game, it just wont work.

Some games ARE easier than others and Stoke are NOT the same as Man Utd.

I came over from Ireland with my Dad for that Brum game was his first time at Anfield in about 10 years , was awful, really hope the stoke game is not like that

Think rest Masherano and start Gerrard and Alonso with Kuyt & Riera on the wings

Exactly, these guys are fit enough to play every other day there's no need to rest them.

Won't Duracell Ltd have a say in that???

Its so funny how we all sit here predicting our line-up and discussing which players to rotate and rest for each game.

Yesterday we were all discussing how Torres def won't play against Marseille coz he will be rested and Mascher is injured so he'll be rested and Gerrard might be rested etc etc

We can't even figure out who Rafa will select so what chance does the opposition manager have of figuring out who will play????

Was that Boavista game on September 11th (or day after)?

I was at that one. Very weird atmosphere that night and lots of empty seats.

I'd try and suss this Stoke side out in the first half, get 10 men behind the ball and try and play counter attacking football.
If we manage to keep it 0-0 in the first half i'd maybe take a big gamble and go a bit crazy in the 2nd half and just play with 9 men behind the ball.
