Amazed quite frankly that Rafa wanted to sell one of our most talented players (Alonso) and keep Lucas; the reason being that Xabi is actually half decent and would command a reasonable fee while we'd struggle to recover what we've spent on Lucas.

He had a bad game, to compare him to Anderson is not fair in my books as they are different players, he is currently been played out of position, he is not a defensive midfield player but perhaps this has more to do with Rafas progression plans for him. I like him, We are a half a dozen games into the New season for ****s sake, the boy has only had a couple of ****ing run outs this season, both in defensive roles to great side away from home .. In his first season, in a foreign lg, playing for a big club I thought he did very well, I was always more than happy to see him on the team sheet .. solid player .. I still remember him coming on for Stevie G and changing a game for us ..

Just don't think he can fit into our formation or style of play. He's probably better in the role that Gerrard played yesterday. Don't think he's upto the role playing alongside Mascherano. Starting to have doubts about him also.

I think anderson is a completly different player type, so don't think that comparison should be made.

I think Lucas is talented, and def. showed it in the olympics and in a few games last season. He needs to adapt to the footballing culture, and not least get used to a more def. role that Rafa puts him in.
