Alan Green - simply the best!

I just find that Green barely describe the action when he is commentating. He sole redeeming feature is that he interacts well with Graham Taylor who I think is a very good co-commentator.

606 requires a genuine radio presenter really rather than a converted comentator which is why people like Danny Baker thrive and Green just seems to blare on like a foghorn without making the show flow at all. I'm indifferent to Spooney but at least he is an open and honest red. Greens faux impartiality is very wearing.

I don't know why they do have Green on when he tends to do the Saturday games. Very weird. Saying that 606 do have some confounded presenters, Ray Stubbs who is plain rude to his callers, Tim Lovejoy is just rubbish, Spoony comes across as a bit confused.

This will sound strange but Peter Reid isn't the worst when you compare him to the list we have drew up.. I can actually tolerate him

I suppose he is evertons version of thommo but a bit less passionate.

I think Green has become a bit of a parody of himself in the same way as Alan Hansan has as a pundit. Both used to be excellent but I believe the former has started to believe his own hype and now his commentary is more about his opinions and views rather than what’s actually happening in the game.

For me, Mike Ingham is the best 5 Live commentator and as someone has already mentioned, Graham Taylor has done an amazing job of reinventing himself as a top class summariser/pundit who I always enjoy listening to.

If he's on TV, I switch over, if he's on the radio, I switch over, he is just simply boring and uniteresting to listen to.
