    In your heart of hearts

i know i will get lambasted for this but does everybody on here think that kuyt as been that good? i know he shows signs of having all the potential and will probably end up a great player for us, but a Liverpool legend already and man of the match awards that i think have been thoroughly undeserved and while the likes of unfashionable players like pennant are being blamed for everything, kuyt seems to be beyond criticism, hard working ,industrious, one great goal ,this is the man thats stopping England's top scorer from playing for our club. don't get me wrong i like kuyt and so badly want him to do well but i think we maybe going over the top here.(just putting my bullet proof vest on i expect shaggy has already loaded his gun on the pennant bit. i can take it.

Those who proclaim Kyut to be a Liverpool legend after half a dozen games and a couple of goals are fools.

They are also doing a huge disservice to the likes of Shankley, Paisley, Fagan, both Kennedys, King Kenny, Barnes et al

Don't get me wrong what i've seen of him he looks a decent player but he's got along way to go before he can, with justification, be proclaimed a legend.

Kuyt has had a very promising start, followed by two quiet games. I agree the hype has been over the top and Crouch is desperately unlucky to have only started one of the last five games. He's unquestionably our in-form striker.

Sadly, it's the nature of football today - hype.

Kuyt has made a promising start to his career - very hard working, decent amounts of skill, and a couple of good goals.

Likewise, Pennant has made a poor-ish start to his LFC career.

However, it is much too early to proclaim one a saviour and the other a failure....

I think if you have a problem with any player who's keeping Crouch out the starting lineup then it should be with Bellamy, not Kuyt.

I don't think we should be building Kuyt up to be our striking hero, because i'd hate to think we were setting him up for a fall. However it does seem promising that no one has hd a bad word to say about him yet, in all the papers I've read and on TV. When we first started playing Cisse, we could see flaws in his game, as of yet I'm yet to see any glaring flaws in Kuyts game.

He's been a bit quiet last game or two, but he's still finding his feet, and could have had goals in both games, but for the post.

I'd rather have someone we can rave about rather than complain about, ala Bellamy/Pennant.

to be honest i think your view of Bellamy's role is a little unfair,he works just as hard as kuyt and is more capable of assists especially when crouch is in the team, i cant find anything derogatory to say about Bellamy except he as a tendency to not play the offside rule correctly.

I think Kuyt contributes more to the team than Bellamy does, if Bellamy was scoring goals then I wouldn't have a problem. Well in fact I dont have a problem, just saying that if I was going to put Crouch in, it would be a Bellamy's expense not Kuyt's.

                And he doesn't score goals.

I know I know...it's early days and it took Crouch 19 games to get just one, but 1 in 10 isn't what I was hoping for.

I think he's a good player and will turn out to be an excellent buy but he is not in the legend status yet!

kuyt deserves his place, but then so does crouch. and the euro game proved they can play together, so i'd say its bellamy who is keeping crouch out of the team not kuyt.

I agree with Shaggy, especially seeing as Bellamy's best ever goal haul is what you'd hope for from a midfielder. Kuyt and Crouch for me til proven otherwise.

that surprises me,because when you have two strikers upfront then inevitably one will have to work the left flank or the right and provide service unless you play two out and out wingers and we rarely play that system.I'm no expert but i cant see crouch and kuyt playing together unless its all out attack.(hark at me coming on like champ manager veteran).

i don't agree with any of this bellamy bashing bull****.

apart from reminding myself how **** we were on match of the day, bellamy had a few nice moves down the left.

the exchanges with gerrard for his shot on goal were very nice.

i just think some of you people like moaning. last season, people moaned at cisse for being lazy, bellamy generally works pretty hard, and everyone is saying, yeh, cisse was lazy, but at least he got loads of goals.

for fcuk sake people, make up your minds.

Depends on how they play, my idea is for Kuyt to be the fox in the box type player, and for crouch to be the bridge between midfield and Kuyt, holding the ball up, and looking for Kuyt. I'm sure some will se it the reverse.

With wingers, both can play further up the pitch, as shown in the Gala game with Aurelio's crossing, just need to get some better crossing on the right.

Yeah but your only reason for liking him is because he's Welsh! Take off the leek-tinted spectacles!
