We just need to stop getting poor results against the lesser teams like we did against Stoke.

We are good enough to beat the top 3 teams on our day, so i would not rule us out if we sort our problems out.

It depends how many points the title winners will eventually get. 90 and we'll be a bit far off, 80 and we'll be up there until the end. With the mid-table being much stronger, I can see the champions finishing with less points than last season.

Good point, would be fun to be up there with 7-8 games remaining, and this year we may be strong enough to do it. It would take a bit of luck and also not having Rob Styles awarding penalties that should not have been

I truely believe we have a great chance. We need to sign a right sided attacker in January to give Kuyt competition like Riera has with Babel and we need to sign another right back. I have a feeling Degen will be a flop.

I think because the league has got stronger and there are teams desperately trying to push on for Europe with all the extra money and extra pressure, I think that there will be more teams fighting to the end and more teams taking points off each other, I could be wrong but I can see the team that wins the league finishing with less than 90 points maybe ~82-85, I think we are certainly capable of that, however I think we lack the experience of players that have been through a title race before, so I suspect we may just fall short but hopefully come back stronger for it next year and take the title
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Somewhere between option 3 and 4 for me. We are not quite there yet. I hope im wrong though. If we are top of the league come January I might think differently though.

Really it is impossible to say. Any long term injuries to key players and we will struggle to mount any sort of challenge. If we can avoid them then I feel we will challenge.

But as others have mentioned the form of the teams just out the top 4 will have a huge bearing on the season. One thing for sure is that we have just about enough quality in the squad to see us through to the end of the season. Any problems between now and January and I'm sure we have a few bob lying around to dip into the transfer market.

At the moment I'm very positive, but it's all in the balance at the moment. To many times I have said we can challenge only to see us falter at one stage in the season. We can not afford to have a month in which we fail to get results.

Looking around at the moment I see no one team better, just two equals in the Mancs and Chavs. I went option two, but it could be any of the above for us.

This is mentioned to often for me. We have enough players in the squad who have played in the top competitions in world football to know how to handle pressure. The manager has been in England long enough now to understand the balance between attack and defence, and how when to rest and when not to.

People said the same about how Chelsea lacked the experience to close out a title, but if you have the right quality in the squad and a good enough manager you can win the league.

CHelsea will win it imo. Arsenal us and Utd to fight it out again for the left overs. I think it will be Chelsea, Mancs and arsenal level on points in 2nd and 3rd, then us in 4th again but closer, if I'm being honest.

Agree with you, but i don't know if it's me being honest like you, or if it's just me not wanting to tempt fate or to let my self believe.

Chelsea will be the team to beat this year but I'm confident that we'll deffo be top 3 material and much closer to the lead team. I do think we have enough in the locker to take it right to the wire and nick it if I'm honest with you.

If we can get over Nov, Dec & January and still be in the hunt we'll go close.

I think it's Chelsea's to lose but if we're close and they are still in the Champions League I think that'll be their priority and we could sneak it.

Maybe the key is down to who can finish teams of quicker. Do that and you can take your foot of the gas, as is sometimes the case when a team is two or three up with twenty minutes to go. The best teams just kill the pace of the game and play the clock down.

In this way there is no need to rotate as much either.
