Daniel Agger has denied reports of a rift with Rafa Benitez and has made it clear he is intent on fighting for his place at Liverpool.
The defender was a mainstay of the Liverpool side prior to picking up a foot injury which decimated his 2007/2008 campaign.

The signing and subsequent emergence of Martin Skrtel has forced Agger down the pecking order and reports suggest Benitez was less than impressed with the Dane’s display against Standard Liege in a Champions League qualifier.
Agger has admitted Benitez was not happy with certain aspects of Liverpool’s display against the Belgians, but has insisted there is no rift between the pair.
"Of course there are things that Benitez was not satisfied with after Liege," Agger told Danish TV station TV3.
"We didn't play a good match, but it is a big lie to say we had an argument. I certainly hope it is only football reasons why I am not playing.
"I have no problem in this club. He has just said that the team is playing very well, and that is why I am not playing."
Agger’s future has been cast into doubt, as he could buy out the remainder of his contract, but he has indicated his desire to fight for his place at Anfield.
"I want to stay here and fight for my place in the squad," he added.
"I'm not satisfied with the fact that I'm not playing but I have to cope and accept it.
"I'm happy at Liverpool."
Hard to drop Carra or Skrtel really considering we have conceeded very little this year. I like that Agger is going to fight and is not making a big deal about it. Past players would be knocking on Rafa's door seeking assurances instead of getting their head down and working hard.

Until he signs a new contract I will not be happy. Think he will but until he does it is a worry.
