To be called that he will have to do it consistently for a few seasons in my book.

Important point - all his goals are from open play He is a more complete player than Fowler was but let's see how it goes for the next couple of seasons
      * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Gotta kind of agree with that. We also played more attacking football back in Fowler's day. The premiership is a lot tougher/physical now too.

              Torres is ours, all ours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Second season syndrome was a worry but I believe he will be even better this season. A true legend in the making.

Good question that, he is with a decent chance. As others have said, no pens or free kicks. Would be an awesome effort and put in perspective his awesomeness

Nando will be about 30 by the time my lad starts getting into it and I'm gutted for him that he's missing this super-striker of awe and wonder in his pomp. What a player. The finest centre-forward in the whole ruddy world, and he's ours.
Just thought this was worth quoting, great post.

I reckon about 15 of Fowlers 1st 100 goals were penalties. So based on that it would be a real achievment if Torres scored 85 goals in 165 appearances.

Can i just stress im not knocking Robbie in any way, he is an absolute legend and my 2nd favourite ever Liverpool player. However i just rate Torres as a better all round striker

He is something very, very special. Im just priviliged to be able to watch this man strut his stuff in the red of Liverpool.

I just hope defenders keep kicking him because once he's been booted he seems to get this steeley look in his eye and you know he's going to score. Legend.

no in fairness to robbie he only scored 20 pens all together for us and I know he scored a few second time around with us.

If he manages to score 'just' 20 goals in the remaining 31 league games, he'll have 25 league goals this season - which would be a superb return, during the dreaded '2nd season'.

If Torres keeps up that ratio of goals per game it will take him 150 to reach 100 goals

                              No Pressure though

Aye, but not moody in the Baros/Cisse mould. Those gob****es would go missing for the game but Torres is always looking for a way. Remember Sunderland (and even Everton), out of the game for a lenghty period and then EL SCORCHIO!
