    Kewell

I said it a couple of weeks ago. But i think we really miss him. He gave us a good balance on the left side and was consistent with his form for the better part of last season.

Instead we have Gonzalez who is a good prospect but a bit raw with talent. And Riise Aurelio who are defensive midfielders at best. Thus meaning Stevie is having to play there.

No acurate dates yet, supposedly he's just had 3 operations back home, and is recouperating. Said he won't be coming back till he's fully healed this time, have heard periods of bout 3 months mentioned so probly January time.

Well we are really clutching at straws if we think that Harry will sort us out...

He hasn't kicked a ball in anger since the World Cup - and has just had three operations - on a series of long-term problem injuries... There is no guarantee that he will ever regain his previous sparkling form...

I hope Rafa's not waiting for his phone call to say he's back. Time for Plan B ...or C ... or Q (or whatever we are up to).

I wouldn't say it's clutching at straws, Harry is probably one of the best players in our squad on his day, and that's why i think Rafa has shown so much faith in him when other managers would have binned him, because he knows what he's capable of. If he truly hasn't been fit for the last 2 years, then it would be unfair to judge him on his form since all these injury problems started. Just look at Solsjaker for Man U, he was out for close to 3 years and has returned in great form.

I really don't think his 3 goals and 3 assists can't be matched by Gonzo or Garcia. Can't see him making much of a difference at all.

We need to start scoring on our chances. Kewell won't help in that department...

We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold.

I don't think Kewell can be judged on those stats. What he really does is create space for other players with incisive runs and he rarely gives the ball away. His final ball is better than almost all of the other players at the club and like Garcia has the ability to unlock the defense with one ball.

It's not his contribution in goals, its his contribution to the shape of the team. And he makes Gerrard a lot better.

                      Dont agree.
I bet if he was injury free and playing for Martin O Neill he would be a totally different player. IMHO he has been woefully unlucky since he arrived here.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

That says more about O'Neill tho doesnt it? Some managers get the best out of ****e players. Look at biscan under Rafa.

Yeah, I think O Neill is argueably the best "old style" motivator in the game.
As for Rafa, he uses more modern techniques of psychology to get players to react on the pitch, there is a difference I think. Rafa will use peoples physical and tactical strengths better than any other manager, where O'Neill uses their confidence and desire.
