Ian Ayre - proving his worth??

Ian Ayre is the commercial director brought in by Hicks to improve Liverpool's shambolic commercial operation.

The article below describes a few deals he's done that are bringing in an extra £10m (per year?) from Thomas Cook, Konami, Paddy Power and the superleague formula championship.

In my opinion these are all good things, what does everyone else think?

Increased revenue is alway good, so I can only be happy about this aspect.

Better for our owners to take out money from increased revenue than the transfer-money...

Good point, but what would have happened if Ian Ayre hadn't generated that money? Would the summer transfer budget have been smaller? Would Rafa have been told to sell in January?

The Thomas Cook and Racing car ones were. I don't remember anything specific about Konami...

Can't knock additional income and seemingly Mr Ayre's is at least paying his way whilst employed by LFC.

However, I suppose the real question has got to be are we anywhere near realising our full commercial potential given that we were so far behind at the outset? For me, it would be a no....we've a long way to go yet. But at least we're moving in the right direction.

Is he the guy from Man City?

Didn't know he'd actually joined, thought he was targeted as a replacement for Parry.

Nah, he joined as commercial director before those rumours started.

Used to be CEO of Huddersfield and was also involved in manufacturing satellite dishes or set top boxes I believe.

He got a right kicking on here when he joined for generally being one of G&H's goons. Also got a kicking for the new fan card.

Less of a kicking today obviously.
                            Oh I don't know.

                              They make computer games.

Can you guess what they might as part of the deal?
