Post-match interview with Rafa. He does not seem a happy bunny.
I think it would mean so so much to him to come back to Madrid and win, therefore maybe he is more disappointed than usual considering how close we were.

I guess you have to see most of his other post-match reviews, but to me thats about as down as I've ever heard him on the team.

Of course I've heard the other post match interviews. He sounds deflated not angry I reckon.

None of our players really gave it 100% today, they all seemed quite tired and needed to save some energy for Chelsea i guess. I actually predicted 1-1 draw, didnt expect us to win as i felt it was a game we didnt badly need to win. The kind of match where you could go away, get a point and get focus back on Chelsea.

Overall, didnt expect too much and not really bothered. Wish we had held on but oh well **** it, sunday is more important and we will qualify from this group anyway

Yeah, you are right, angry is too strong a word.

Sad *******s discussing negative points about a match that we actually came away from with a decent result.

I'm sorry that my choice of things to discuss after the match does not meet with your approval.

Please send me the list of things it's ok to talk about and I'll conform in the future

                    My thoughts?

Atletico are ****e and were lucky. ****ing overrated they are.

Wait till we get them back at Anfield we'll kill them, bunch of cheating rotters.

They had a few players out missing today though. They could very well be a tougher proposition than they were today. Well definitely need to play better, that's for sure.

That'll do. Played in awful windy conditions*, on a pitch that cuts up more than the Millennium Stadium pitch, a draw against them away from home is a decent result. One win out of our last three games, two of which are at home, will see us through. I'd take that going into any qualifying group.

It is a bit worrying that the players are looking tired, with Chelsea at the weekend. But let's hope that it was just down to the pitch and the weather conditions.

Looking at individuals, Dossena was a positive, as was Agger. Riera showed that he isn't a world beater yet, though he's still got more on the positive side than the negative. Benni was shocking, if Reina carries on like that he might start actually being recognised by commentators as the great keeper that he is, and if Carra wants to make one lazy mistake a season then I'll take tonight's as long as he's concentrating again for Sunday!

All in all, a decent away draw in Europe under tricky conditions. Don't see how anyone could see it as a negative given the great position we are in in the group. Bring on Sunday, and give the lads a rest between now and then.

                        * the conditions tonight reminded me of a match I played a few years ago right near the Mersey on a Sunday morning near Aigburth. Our keeper took a goal kick in the first few minutes and the ball got caught in the wind, came back towards him, bounced once around the edge of the box and went straight over the bar for a corner to the opposition!

You not happy with that result then, seriously?

It's not like we got knocked out.

                          What's the problem?

As I said before, happy with the result, not the performance.

They were a bunch of rotters though, they'll never etch themselves in the history books though will they, especially with players like Maniche who goes to ground so easily and Forlan who I thought was a good player up until I read his comments before the game. They're not a great team. I was expecting a lot more from them.

Does anyone else think Forlan's comments were made up by the way, on the eve of a big game too?

As for Aguero, it was a nice finish that was disallowed but is he really on the same level as Messi?

I think not. I haven't seen a lot of this guy but from what I have seen you can't even compare him and Messi. Messi is the most gifted footballer in the world at the moment.

I will take a good result over a bad performance any day, especially away from home in the Champs League against At Madrid.

I wouldn't even say that was a bad performance really.
