Hmmmm, Yossi's not that bad. He's just one of those players who either has superb games or is rubbish, very little in between.
As for Arbeloa, he's done pretty well this season so far for me, I agree that he's not necessarily the ideal right back and by the sounds of it didn't have a great game last night, but we could do a lot worse imo.I could not dig, I dared not rob:

Mine angry and defrauded young?

Gerrard had a pretty poor game too. It's almost as if everyone had declared they were knackered in the dressing room before they came out on the pitch.Originally posted by Zapater View PostHmm people are also overlooking the fact that Gerrard was to the right of Benayoun for periods of the game this evening. But no, we can't criticise Gerrard no matter what so we'll select some easier targets like Yossi and Arbeloa a bollocking.
But for quite a while, there was **** loads of space on the right for them to cross into.

I really think criticism of him tonight is bollocks Agger and Dossena completely neglected their duties at the back at times and he tried to cover. He wasn't stellar in his own duties but many of the fouls given against him were harsh and his positioning when attacks came down his flank was good."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

I really like the lad and put the performance last night down to Yossi's lack of support more than anything else. But in saying that, I didn't think Arbers did too badly considering.
Enough of the negative talk from me, we won the game in my books. If it wasn't for the piss poor ref we would have wooped them. Some players were rested and we're still top of the group. Get in there

Im more worried about what will happen if Arbeloa picks up an injury.
Degen is constantly injured and has barely played a game. Who else do we have as cover?
Carra can shift over there but that would mean Hyypia having to play, and even thats not possible in the Champions League.
Aside from that it's down to Stephen Darby, who although I've been very impressed with, I wouldnt want to rely on for a title push.
Have I missed anyone else out? We seem worryingly short at RB.

His positioning in the second half was laughable, especially when they attacked down the right or through the middle.Originally posted by dww View PostI really think criticism of him tonight is bollocks Agger and Dossena completely neglected their duties at the back at times and he tried to cover. He had a stinker. He concedes more fouls than the rest of the squad put together, in his own half. I do think he's a decent all rounder, and offers more going forward than Carra would, but he needs to sort himself out with petty fouls.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years
