We have become a well-oiled machine - everyone knows their job inside out and we have swashbuckling brilliance in front of our rock solid base. Our passing is now resembling that of Benitez's Valencia - crisp, incisive and quick. I ****ing love it. Alonso is now playing like the midfield general he always threatened to be, and is like a new player for us.

Just hope we can keep this together and kick on from here. The players brought in in the summer have fitted in well and we now have the squad to compete. I said about a month ago that there is something about us this season that i have not seen since Kenny was manager.

Yeah, we can't get carried away but as long as we avoid injuries we can really push teams. I think Rafa will be very open about our chances because i think he knows our lads can handle pressure. I wouldnt be surprised if he very publically challenges our rivals this season. Our players have the right mentality and we now all know why Rafa hasn't stopped talking about mentality for 4 years

I believe we will really fight for it this year. We have beaten the 2 top teams in europe without Torres and that is a real encouraging sign
