Peter Crouch is relishing the prospect of facing his old team-mates when Portsmouth travel to Anfield tonight.

The 27-year-old returns to Liverpool for the first time since departing for the south coast in July.

And, though desperate to make an impression in front of the Kop, Crouch has spoken of his desire to see Rafa and co win the league.

He said: "I'm really looking forward to going back. I've got such fond memories of the place.

"I don't think you realise how big a club it is until you've played for them. I had three seasons there and I look back on it as probably the best time of my career. I loved every minute of it there.

"I've still got a lot of friends at the club and I'm really looking forward to going back.

"They are sitting top of the league. Nothing would give me greater satisfaction than to win, but for them to win the league."

Very good player and he seems like a very decent bloke. Rafa helped make him the player he is today and he certainly helped us before Torres joined us. Some of the stick he got from Liverpool fans was sickening to read, but thats the era we live in today with the internet.
Really hope he has a stinker tonight, well if we are 3 up I would love to see him score another overhead kick and treat us to some robotics.
