I'm a great fan of Carraghers, and defended him to all comers back in the days when he was being played at LB/RB and getting derided by many, cos altho he's never been the greatest going forwards, the lad knows how to defend.

But at some point, all careers will come to an end (for example, you're Est career will be a short lived one i feel) and managers and fans will start looking to the future...and as the original poster pointed out, before you threw your rattle out of the pram, was how long will that be in Carra's case.

That's what i said, Carra can't go on for ever. I said 2 years at top level, then slowly fading him out. The same happened with Sami, he's not been first choice for a couple of seasons now.

It basically went along the lines of people stating how much better Skrtel and Agger are than Carra, then that Agger is the greatest all round defender in the world, then that Carra was getting on a bit and that Rafa should perpare for the future (even though a manager is always doing this).

This led Skunk to moan at people having digs at Carra, and then people moaning at Skunk for moaning. Then all the posters asked questions of each other, none of which were answered by the others. This led to more petty moaning. This in turn was followed by the usual moan of calling eachother WUMS.

My point to Skunk was that if he disagrees with a poster he should leave out the insults. This in turn would have prevented everyone sinking to the depths of pettiness we had nd made a reasonable debate into a joke of a thread.

I like Scratch but I think he needs to stop hounding Skunk. Skunk is obviously a Liverpool fan and through knowing Rashid has more than likely been booted off a few LFC fan sites before, just like Rashid.

So in that case I think we should give him a break and let him find his feet on here, hopefully he will realise there is no need for the insults as they solve nothing, especially on the net where you get time to think before you lash out.

It didnt though Danny. ONE person called Agger the best defender in the world, everyone else just posted words to the effect of them rating Agger and Skrtel and NOBODY as far as i could see (apart from that same ONE person) made any suggestion that Agger or Skrtel are better than Carra.

How i read the posts went something like this

people were praising agger and saying he has stepped up and replaced skirtel whislt out injured and when skrtel is back the potential of a Skrtel/Agger partnership could be exciting

someone than asked, how long do people think it will be before we see this or how long do people think carragher still has at the top of his game before he decides to retir eor plays less etc

Skunk took this a dig on carragher questioning why people were having a go at him and slagging him

this resulted in a few people asking what was skunk smoking, cause noone had questioned carras abilty other than the fact thats it's obvious he won't be able to play like a spartan for the rest of his life and that at some point we have two clas young centre backs who have the potential to be great for the club

some people offered their opinions on why the like carra/agger/skrtel best

skunk started to call people names and question their sanity

some people started to call skunk names back

the thread became quite entertaining

etc etc
