ha, although there's an increasing part of me that agrees with that. what keane has in his favour is that he can't get any worse.

Everybody in the game says it. Ferguson talked about it when they, as champions, lashed £50m+ on the likes of Anderson, Nani and Hargreaves.

I would have thought when you are winning, are on top, and playing well - then it would be easier to spot any remaining weaknesses in your side, as there would obviously be less.

It is certainly true. the fact is though that no matter when you have to genuinely strengthen and be able to bring new players in when the time is right.

I think we could do with an improved squad option for the right - as a replacement for Pennant. Heskey might be a decent option depending on the fitness of our stikers and if we can loan someone like N'Gog out to a decent level.

Whatever we do has to be motivated by the long term IMO. The best January signings for big teams are generally the sort that may take time to bed in but will add something to the team long term (I'm thinking Agger, Evra and Vidic for example).

Kaka, Aguero, Ramos and Henry, and nothing less mind nothing less

Either that or the Polish chap Kub and Heskey

Use the cash to give Rafa, Agger and Derek new contracts.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I think there's a big difference between strengthening at the end of the season and doing the same at the middle of the season. There is far more potential for disruption to the team in the latter I reckon.

Id rather whatever funds we have are usd to tie Rafa, Agger and whoever else to new deals. Unless there is a long term injury or a real bargain then go with the contracts. Zaki for under 10 mill may be an option I guess but its the old question of where would we play him? We do have options now and even rb which id say is weak we have arbeloa, degen, carra and even stevie who can play well there. If anywhere though is say it would be the right side thats looked at.

Need a RB if you ask me. I like Arbs, but whether he is really good enough at the very top level is arguable & Degen isnt reliable enough for back-up cos of his injury record at least. Also a proper attacking RB would give us the extra width down that side that Kuyt doesnt.
                          3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Would love us to get a new RB.

                            In an ideal world, Ramos.

No thanks. I have seen the lad numerous times and think he is the most over rated player on the planet.

Hes decent but dodgy and I certainly wouldnt spend more than 10 mill on him. Hes the spanish Micah Richards, potentially great but not quite there just yet.

i like arbeloa, we can let darby be second choice rb.
right wing is a must imo, unless of course rafa feels el zhar is up to thew task? ive read about kuba, but never seen him play so cant comment. i can see pennant off in jan to a mid table team. maybe we could offer 5 mil and him for valencia??
