It good that someone else starts threads and discussions, not the only the usual bunch. No matter what intentions he has he started a discussion, and it hasn`t ended in a slagging match between the usual suspects.
He may be a WUM, but at least he made a good, well written post to start of with.Blank

keane has been a flop to date. all the talk about what he brings to the team is actually what we would like him to bring to the team not what he actually has so far.
the lad is premiership proven and at the peak of his career yet so far has failed to settle. early on rafa thought that he could play keane on the left or right of a 4231 and found that keane can't play there. once we moved to 442 everytime he's played he's looked anything other than a 20 million striker.
i hope he improves but this slow start, never score in august is bollocks.

but he was ****e to begin with, even hes admitted that, but he learnt the lingo, got his first goals and the rest was history.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostKeane and Henry is the most surreal comparison i've ever heard.
As for Henry's 'completely rubbish' start. Well, he scored 17 from 31 in the league, that season. Rubbish.
As for us, the strength in depth is there, a massive leap from last season.
Think Doessna has been ok for us, ok, maybe ripping up trees for us, but ok.
And I think Keane will turn out to be a good signing for us, though 20mill was far too much for him.

Oh how I laughed.Originally posted by Neil Young View PostI was very underwhelmed when we signed Keane. However, even though he isn't playing all that well, I can start to see he is a good addition to the squad. His combination of qualities is unique in our squad and he is a real improvement on the options we had last season.

Great first post Charlie. Disagree with the Rafa part but a good read all the same.
Robbie's on a hiding to nothing really. 20m fee, 20+ goals last season, playing for HIS team with the whole footballing world waiting, wanting even, him to fail.
He's always been a hot/cold player for my money anyway, an opinion shared by a few Spurs mates of mine. He has his moments and has a dazzling array of talents on his day, but he's never been the most consistent IMHO.
I'm glad we've got him. He's a great player, he loves this club and i'm sure he's going to do really well. As long as he can put up with lots of knees of the jerky variety that is.That's the one...

GH's famous summer of doom in the transfer market resulted in him spunking 20 odd million on players that didn't improve the 1st eam, in fact they made it worse. Rafa has don the same, Keane, Dossena and Ngog are worse options than Crouch, JAR and Voronin imo. The Kean purchase was a massive gamble and considering the price, it could be a make or break one. I expect us to be fighting it out for 3rd again at the end of this season, realistically. If this is the case, the highs of October will be long forgotten and the focus will once again move back to our CL run and whether we have a squad to compete for the league next season. The 20 milion on Keane and 8 on Dossena, and their performances this seaon, could well determine Rafa's future at the club.Originally posted by Robster007 View PostGreat first post Charlie. If we fight for the title until the end, it won't matter, obviously.

I smell WUM but will happily apologise if proved wrong.

I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?

Big time, people keep wondering why we spunked so much cash on a forward when its clear Torres wouldnt be able to play every match. Great to see him coming back into a bit of form.Originally posted by Brzeczyszczykiewicz View PostSo fortunate to have Robbie Keane in a team. It is a new dawn I tell you
