What Pepe does better than any other keeper is distrbute the ball.

His kicks and throws are second to none. As his penalty saving ability. Shot stopping catching crosses etc he is as good as or as near enough as it doesn't matter.

The other thing he has, that all great keepers have, is a strong mental attitude.

Absolutely, his ability to pick out a red shirt in the opposition half and hit it right onto their instep is simply sensational.

Some commentator the other night, probably on Setanta tho it might as well have been Sky, said something about teams "thinking they can get at Reina". I was laughing for about 20 minutes

      Reina is boss
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.

      Mine angry and defrauded young?

No doubt in my mind, Pepe had gone up a level this year. Thanks to the Euros and the confidence being a winner instills, despite not getting any game time there. And he's a mere kid in keeper terms, so he'll improve yet more.

I think he did get at least one outing in the Euros no?
It's easy to distract fat people. It's a piece of cake.

Yes, I heard that too - it was Martin Tyler just after Terry clattered him saying teams think he may by suspectible to high balls and crosses. The next 2 crosses delivered, he flattened Daniel Agger and the next he punched a country mile!!!

            Pepe!!!

Is it because we see him week in week out that we rate him as highly, theres so many ****tards out there who think hes a dodgy keeper its unreal, its like the whole world is on a wind up because surely they can see, as I see, that Pepe is ****ing legendary?!

I would not swap him for another goalkeeper in world football today, in fact i may go as far as saying I would only swap him for Schmeical in his pomp. And yes I can remember Clemance (barely) and Brucie.

first thread in a while that has been debated properly
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

He's talking about not even conceding chances let alone goals. Had a massive grin on my face whe I read that because its true, we are so well organised he barely even has to save a shot most games, and he is key to that organisation for me. He has developed into a beast of a keeper.
He had one to save Wednesday, Stood his ground and took it in his stride, other keepers would of panicked and dove. Pepe just swallowed it and started the next counter attack. Star player for us IMO, with SG and FT.
Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

May i just add also, that against Chelsea the other week, when we were 1-0 and the ball went into the crowd behind Pepe's goal, he was telling the Reds fans to 'keep it' every time, in order to waste a few more seconds. On one occasion the fan threw it straight back and Pepe bollocked him for it

Later on, the ball went behind and the fans kept it - long enough that a replacement ball was call for. As the replacement ball was booted to Pepe, the original ball was thrown back
