Is Buffon better? a couple of years ago no doubt, but the others you mention (inc our Pepe) have rapidly become better over the past 2/3 years and have developed the sweeper/keeper role to new levels.

Perhaps Reina doesn't have as many saves to make as other keepers, but surely that's a positive reflection on his concentration. Every keepers is prone to mistakes, whether it be Reina, Cech, Schmeichel or Dasaev (IMHO the greatest). A keeper with nothing to do for 80 minutes and all of a sudden coming under siege might be forgiven for not being in the game. You don't see Pepe's mind wandering, he's constantly shouting at the defenders and marshalling the defence at set pieces.

On one occasion the fan threw it straight back and Pepe bollocked him for it

Later on, the ball went behind and the fans kept it - long enough that a replacement ball was call for. As the replacement ball was booted to Pepe, the original ball was thrown back
        That's class.
