And really, championship contenders should be able to bounce back from a result like that. Looking at our next 5 or 6 games, winning every one is a distinct possibility if we play to our potential, and that will tell us a lot about our ability to really put in a challenge this year.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but bringing Keane off was a mistake, the ball didnt stick up front after he went off and Spurs got back in the game.

Total domination yet wasted chances cost us once again.

We've scored enough last minute goals this season to expect it to happen to us at some stage, **** it, **** happens, theres still loads to play for and all the top 4 will drop points, most important thing is that we show the character to bounce straight back next week and go on another run.

It was always going to happen, sooner or later, with us leaving things to chance and winning games by just one goal, the "freak" game where absolutely everything goes against us was on its way.

But this isn't about losing now, it's about knowing how to bounce back and getting in the groove again. Yesterday we've played well and should have won by a large margin. It didn't happen, so we get back to work and prepare ourselves to win the next game.

I have absolutely no complaints to the team or the manager. If we keep playing the way we are, we'll be challenging for the title, no doubt about it.

25 so not really a significant difference.

Me to just woke up now and the first thing i think about was the ****ing game last night. Gutted but more pissed off the the team took spurs for granted and we got what we deserved. This is a hard lesson for the lads. We spunked that game away last night and allowed a **** team to dictate the play in the last 20 minutes. ****ing bollocks that.

I hope rafa and sammy had a right go at them at full time last night. I know we are going to lose games but there is a difference between losing and throwing the game away FFS.

I'd generally agree with that, but I can see whay Rafa made the Keane-Babel sub, I just think the idea behind it was wrecked when we more of less instantly conceeded. Riera - Benayoun was a funny one but then Riera wasn't having the best of games, personally I didn't think that one made a great deal of difference either way.

Lots of games so far this season Rafa's made the right subs at the right time, today things didn't work out but I'd only say they didn't help improve things rather than were the cause of the defeat. Ultimately we were extremely unfortunate not to have killed the game off in that spell after half-time, and its hard to legislate for hitting the woodwork 3 times in a game; 3 points unfortunately lost for me rather than really "pissed away".

We were to an extent unfortunate, but I think it's more of a case that we were lax, complacent and to a degree unprofessional. It was so easy for us that I genuinely believe we were coasting along when we were creating all those chances in the first quarter of an hour in the second half. Being at the game and looking at the players during that period, there wasn't that killer instinct in their faces, that determination, that steel, that edginess to kill Spurs off. Unfortunate yes, but very much the authors of our own downfall as well. I'm still absolutely gutted about it. Has to be one of the worst ways to lose. Someone drew the analogy and I think it was a very apt one; this was like the 2001 FA Cup Final, except the shoe was on the other foot.

Hmmm when everyone on here was calling me a cynical **** for being pissed off about drawing away at Atletico in that fashion... This game was 100% the reason why. I could see this **** coming. We didn't take our chances and ended up dropping points in a piss easy situation. Here today we ended up losing. Pathetic, Spursare****e are ****e. I'm so disappointed by this, the worst of it all is I could see this result coming especially after the performances against Portsmouth and Atleti. Chelsea aside.

I know it's easy to say that we don't have Torres and with a natural goalscorer with him in the 11 we'd clinch these but there's still no excuse for missing the kind of blatant chances we have in these 2 games. Every player is a professional and should be churning out wins on games like today especially after starts like we've had today.

I guess this is a bit of payback from the start of the season when we were playing ****e and still winning.

Oh and about Dossena, none of the goals were really his fault, arguably the second one he could have done better. I'm really not a fan of this guy, his quality on the ball doesn't look very good, I think he's probably made like 3 good crosses all season after like 10000 attempts a game, doesn't look a particularly good defender and so on. Seems like he's a slightly better version of Riise, what a waste of 8m or whatever we paid, surely there were better options available. He bursts forward and I think he's going to do something positive but when he gets in possession he practically takes a first time left footed cross which is a hopeful ball, or an attempted long ball both of which are usually intercepted much to my annoyance. If he doesn't improve drastically soon I hope he is only used to relieve Aurelio then disappears at the end of the season.

i've always found you to be a well balanced poster amigo. you expressed most of my sentiments exactly. anyone who actually watches football will know we're not finishing teams off. oh and dossena is turd.

You could just say - "really, I don't think Dossena is very good at all, in fact I think his performances so far have been dire." I've been defending the rights of certain people on this site to express opinions that go against the grain and not be subject to abuse, but those people also need to take some responsibility in return for the manner with which the express themselves; its not what you say, its the way you say it, especially when you know what the result may be.
