Back on topic - Kuyt for me is and was never good enough to start on our right wing, he is Rafa's Heskey.
What did you expect him to say at his first PC? "Well I don't think we can really challenge Arsenal and Manchester United"? I'm sure you would have reacted well to that.
You have to realise that not every Liverpool fan has such high expectations as you. You may feel you are in the right having high expectations as we are Liverpool etc, but others feel that he had such a big job even to get us up to the level of the aforementioned teams that we are willing to give him more time than you to achieve the ultimate goal. And we also realise that we have no divine right to win anything. Everything is black and white with you.

He plays right mid now and has scored 4 goals.

Admitting you won't change your mind no matter what the evidence isn't going to help your reputation on here you know

So are you seriously saying that whatever he achieves both in the team and personally for Liverpool, he will never win you over? To be honest mate that sort of sentiment from a fellow fan disgusts me

Evans spent £7m net a season when the likes of Newcastle were paying £15m for Shearer, but we still expected him to challenge. I expect Rafa to challenge as he inherited a 4th place team (we finished 4th again last year too), he didn't inherit relegation fodder.

My expectations are from the players he has and the money he has spent - simple. They are not unrealistic at all.

I don't think he will ever be good enough as he is technically awful and on the whole doesn't score goals. He is slow and can't beat a man yet plays wide right. Sorry, not for me.

That hasn't actually answered my question. I understand you don't think he will ever be good enough - which is your perogative, but you're basically saying that whatever he achieves or however he performs you will never give him any credit.

I am the first to praise Kuyt when he does well, just look through the threads of this season. I like to tell it as I see it, not follow what the manager says for example.

Fair enough. You are the only one who has their own opinion, the rest of us just go along with whatever the manager says. Yep argument won, case closed.

That's really stupid though, to say he just WONT win you over.

What if he scores 25 goals this season? You've already made up your mind, regardless of what he does.

How many's he got so far? 6 goals, i think it is. With just under a third of the season gone. If he keeps doing well, he might well get close to 20 in all comps, which would be an excellent return considering he doesnt play much as a striker. Add the workrate and teamwork, and he shouldnt fail to win you over.

But by deciding that he just wont, come what may - well, that's plain daft.

Did Istanbul digust you? Were you disgusted by the best FA cup final in living memory? Are you disgusted to be joint top of the hardest league in the world mid November? Are you Bernard Manning?

Plain simple fact is that none of those win you games. Sprinting down the right in the 118th minute of a game and sticking your leg in front of a defender whose between you and the ball and getting a goal. That wins games and about 15m.

Face it Rashid what you think is important and what is actually important are two different things. You like shiny things, Rafa likes players that make the team win. Go Rafa

A big reason to why Man U isn't close to the top is that Fergie now plays with Berbatov instead of Tevez. That means that all the other players must do a lot of extra hard work.

You won't win the league if you don't play with a team filled with players that work their socks off. You may be able to play with one player that don't do that but not more than that.

Kuyt isn't only there to score goals. He is also there to open up space for other players, his excellent defending and excellent hard work.

You must look at the whole picture and that is what is best for the team.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
