And when his contract is allowed to run down and he is snapped up by a major European club Rashid will be teh first to put the boot in and say why wan't his long term future secured. Can't win this argument.

Well, some might say you've said your piece and there's no need to keep repeating yourself. However your relentless campaign has certainly changed my mind.

        Rafa out.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

            It's a good point.

What does it say about Rafa when all the major continental clubs are interested in having him as their manager?
            Really?

              Not convinced.

Where is the proof in that though? All we hear is his agent doing overtime. Rafa's teams play like Capello's and he was sacked from Madrid due to style of play. Besides it's not really about what he can do abroad, it's about what he hasn't done here - challenge for the league and that's all I want before he starts crying about £2m more a season.

btw you do realise we're joint top right - I mean we are, though early doors, challenging.

I'm not prescient in any way but I really did think it would take him this long to put together a decent challenge precisely because the team he started with was so poor and because with our cash flow it would take 3-4 seasons to make it his own team. Lo and behold he is actually beginning to challenge.

He may have spent more, but the squad required it. And he is right to point out that other teams can spend £20m on one player. Perhaps he is pointing out that in his first few years £2m had to go on 4-5 players because the squad was so poor, rather than looking for more money to spend. Now he can spend £20m on one player, and now we're beginning to challenge. Remember the other teams have been buying players at that level for a few years now (not that it necessarily indicates quality of course - and not Arsenal I know).
                    Really?

rashid's views whether you agree with him or not come down to this. if we're still competing come the end of the season offer rafa a new contract.

                        whats the problem with that?

the biggest problem is in the statements that are being made, e.g. the other team's fans want him to stay - evidence?, he has cried in public for £2m more a year - evidence? If his arguments are being backed up by fact then whatever his opinion, people have to respect it. However that is not the case. Its general bollocks being spouted as fact

Short of taking a video camera around and interviewing opposition fans, then posting it on Youtube, how is he meant to provide evidence of this?

In my own experience, most Man Utd fans want him to stay, while Chelsea fans that i know arent worried about the prospect of him signing a new deal to stay at Anfield.

                                LOL

**** everyone else. I can see how far behind we were in terms of our squad and i can see what Rafa is building and his plan has been clear in development. I don't expect the less intelligent and less attentative people to understand that and i don't give a flying ****.

Rafa is a Legend and i wouldnt swap him for any manager in the world
