That way we could lose to Fulham, Stoke and Hull too. I wish.
What a load of ****ing bollocks. Vela is good and so is Jack Wilshire. The rest are just decent. Vela was not even trained by Arsenal and neither was Ramsay. Get a grip, judge arsenal by there results ffs not just the mickey mouse cup. How any of those 'Kids' will actually make the grade? Id say no more than 4 and 2 of them were only recently bought by Wenger (Ramsay and Vela)
The guy who is saying close the acadamy and do a full review of our coaches must be smoking some good ****. Rafa has put alot of effort into our youth set-up over the past couple of years and when Insua/Nemeth/Brenu/Simon/Plessis/Gulacsi/Pecheco are ready they will be brought through im sure. They are not ready YET because our senior team is one of the best in the world and that is a hell of a benchmark to reach for the kids.
**** imagine if we were top of the league in the next round of the CL ... oh errr
**** some people must be bored
they looked good aye but they still dont get played in an arse team "struggling"

most knowledgable fans liverpool aye

Yes but ask your self why Arsenal win so little at first team, reserve or youth level. Their first team hasn't won anything for three whole seasons, since last winning the FA Cup (on penalties). Last year their "kids" (copyright Sky Sports 2008) weren't good enough even to win the southern reserve premier league - and indeed a week after their "kids" beat Sheff Utd in the Carling Cup in the previous round Arsenal Reserves were roundly thumped 4-1 at home by Aston Villa. I don't remember their youth team winning the FA Youth Cup for at least several years (City and Liverpool (twice) were winners in the last three seasons) - indeed Liverpool knocked them out 1-0 last season.Originally posted by Only1mboy View PostAfter watching the Arsenal kids playing tonight i was in awe.
These kids are better than some of our first team players.
And its not just Arsenal whose Academies are doing well looking at some of the Scum kids like the Da silva Twins,
Posibon and Welbec Man City also have great kids coming through aswell as Aston Villa.
But the real question is thier kids are breaking through unlike ours who seem to be getting stagnent so what do to fix it.
It must be all down to the coaching style and mentality.
I just cant see where the next Owen,Gerrard and Carra are going to come from and its very depressing considering the amout of investment that gone in the academy.
Instead of buying so many youngsters that cant even break an egg let along break into the first team why not poach Barcelona,Real,Ajax or even Arsenal coaches instead.
There are so many places in our first team kids could be fighting for (Left and Right back Right wing and Forwards)
Does anyone know if any of our youngsters would get into the arsenal team?
I think not
Given that their "kids" in the first team have contributed to their losing 3 league games already to some Premier League no-hopers, I really can't see what all the fuss is about.
Honestly, Wigan were so appalling that I'm pretty sure eleven lads from my local would have given them a test

Politics and internal disputes are destroying the club. It's difficult to know who does what if we don't work at Melwood but I would suggest that at the reserve level while it is useful it is probably too late for many of the academy players to adapt. The whole philosophy of the Arsenal system has been that while there were no young English young players educated to a high enough technical standard they would bring in foreign players who were. They however built a base of young player training around the way Wenger wanted players developed. The key discontinuity to me seems between academy and Melwood.Originally posted by Mike_lfc View PostAgree, Pellegrino should work with the ressies at times and get them playing Rafa's way.
I would agree that the politics are at the root of this, although I really believe that both sides of the debate think they are doing the best by the club. I fear however that Parry (or whoever is ultimate charge of the academy) may have a less holistic view than Rafa and at present that is hurting the club."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."
